The score of Sunday's game
sounds more like that of a foot-
ball game, with the Barbers
winning 32-14, but for awhile,
things were tense for the Barber
Boys.
The Bluewater Boys took a 4-1
lead after the first inning, the
score was tied 7-7 at the end of
two, and the Bluewater again led
at the end of the third, 10-7.
However, at this point the
Lakers ran out of steam and the
Barber Boys just started to put on
the pressure. The Bluewater
crew scored only one more run
during the remainder of the game
while Merner's squad tallied
another twenty-five runs to sew
up the. victory.
Bob Johnston arid Phil Overholt
pitched for the winners. Dave
Durand started for the Bluewater.
Among the sixty hits that were
made in the game, there were
two home runs, both by Over-
holts: Phil for the Barber Boys
and Ron for the Bluewater.
The Barber Boys hitters were:
Bob Johnston, Eric Smale, Larr,

to in the Rec League softball
league semi-final series;
defeating the Bluewater crew
relatively easily in their first
two encounters. However, the
Bluewater Boys are still putting
forth a gallant effort, and their
tenacity must be acknowledged.
The first game ended in a 17-5
victory for the Barbers, with the
winners leading throughout the
entireame, giving up the five
runs only in the last two innings.
Pitcher Phil Overholt is now in
top shape, and is giving the
batters a fair amount of trouble.
Jim Bedard led the Barber
Boys assult with four hits, while
Bob Johnston had three, Aubrey
Bedard and Phil Overholt had
two apiece, and Eric Smale,
Larry Bedard, Bob Merner and

times for the losers, Ronnie Over-
holt had two hits, and Larry,

Dave Durand had one each.
Bedard and Dave McNair with

holt, Jim Bedard and Ray Weido
with four; and Bob Merrier with
three.

' Ducharme, Bernie Denomme,
and Dave Durand each had four
hits; Paul Charrette had three;
