six runs in the first inning and
four in the second, and blanked
their opponents in the first

easy 20 - 8 win over Charlies
Auto Sales last Wednesday night.
This victory put the Barbers in
second place with 8 wins, but
Charles with sevein wins, still
nod to play a postponed game
with the Bluewater, which they
won on Sunday, thus tying the
Barber Boys for second place.
Charles seemed to be unable
to pull themselves together,
while Merner's boys kept adding
more and more runs as they
dumped the Teenagers.

two singles and two doubles for
the winners; pitcher Phil Over-

Charlies Down Bluewater Crew To
Force Playoff For Second Place in Z.R.L.
For six innings, the Sunday
afternoon softball game between
the Bluewater Boys and Charles
Auto Sales was a very close
contest which could have gone
either way. Charles had taken
an early lead, scoring eight runs
in the first inning, four of them
on Jerry Rader's bases loaded
home run to left field. However,
the Bluewater crew came to life
in the fourth, fifth and sixth to
trail by only three runs, 18-15.
The seventh inning, though,
was diastrous for the Bluewater,
as Charles crossed the plate 17
times, and then went on to win
the game, 36-24.
The winners' hitting punch
came from Gary Flaxbard with
six hits; Jerry Rader with five;
Paul Flaxbard, Richard Turkheim
and Richard Fisher with four;
Richard Regier, with three;
Dave Stark, Ray Finkbeiner
and Pete Regier with two; and
Doug Meidinger with one.
Paul Charrette led the Blue -
water with a siniale; two doubles,
and a triple; Tony Denomme
and Dave Durand had three hits;
Ron Overholt, Clarence Rau,
Ken Durand, Bernie Denomme,
