the Lutheran Church Women.
He showed a film "The Big R"
and answered questions about
the organization.
Mrs. Hubert Schilbe, Mrs.
Earl Yungblut, Mrs. Jacob
Haberer and Mrs. E. Heideman

London Rescue Mission, Cystic
Fibrosis and Waterloo Lutheran
University. After the business
meeting, a social hour was held.
VARNA
The annual Vacation Bible
School will be held in the United
Church and Orange Hall, begin-
ning Monday, July 7, with Rev.
M. Morrison, in charge.
Decoration Day services were
held at Baird'sCemetery on
Sunday afternoon last. The
cemetery was nicely decorated
and there was a good attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. D. McBeath of
Walkerton, spent the weekend
with relatives here.
Crop Report
Winter wheat appears uniform,
well -headed and promises to be
an above average crop.
While there is an abundance of
hay, the weather conditions
ave been unsuitable for speady
curing. A few cases of alfalfa
weevil damage have been ob-
served.
Weeds will be vigorous corn •
-
petitors in some corn fields
where no herbicides have been
applied.
3n spite of the backward wea-
ther, most crops are growing
well.
