Hensall United Church was
lovely with floral background
of white shasta mums for the
setting Saturday, June 14, at,
4 p.m. for an early summer
wedding, when Joyce Aileen
Flynn and William Joseph
O'Brien exchanged marriage
vows before the Rev. Harold F.
Currie. The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Flynn, Hensall, and the groom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
O'Brien, Dashwood.
Mrs. John Tur kheim provided
traditional bridal music.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of lagoda crepe
trimmed with guipure lace.
Bowed detachable train from the
shoulders swept to a chapel
train with shoulder length veil
with a cluster of daisies. , She
carried a white Bible crested
with pink roses.
Maid of honour, Miss Cheryl
Little of London, and flower
girls Miss Lori Flynn, Hensall
and Miss Lisa Avery of Sarnia,
all wore gowns of white and
turquoise broacade accented
with tiny bows.
John Steep of London was best
manand Gerald Flynn of Hensall
and Wayne O'Brien, Ailsa Craig,
ushered guests.
The wedding reception was
held in the Hensall United
Church.
For their wedding trip to
Niagara Falls and Cape Cod,
the bride travelled in a white
and brown dress with white jack-
et and accessories in white.
A pink rose corsage completed
her ensemble.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was honored at several
showers. Miss Cheryl Little
of London, entertained at her
parent's home in Hensall; the
staff of the Bank of Montreal,..
London, gave her a miscellan-
eous shower, and Unit 4 of the
Hensall U. C. W. presented
her with gifts.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Zurich, was decorated with
baskets of yellow and mauve
mums for the weddingof Barbara
Ann Willert of Hensal and LeRoy
Douglas Oesch of Clinton. The
Rev. A. C. Blackwell performed
the double ring ceremony for
which Bill Cook of Clinton was
soloist, accompanied by Mrs.
Nita Oesch, Zurich, at the
church organ.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Willert
of R. R. 2, Hensall and the •
groom is the son of Police
Sergeant and Mrs. Leroy Oesch
of Clinton.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride wore a gown of
imported French lagoda, fashion-
ed with round high collar, long
lily -point sleeves, skimmer
style skirt, cathedral court train
from a bow at the back shoulder
and a French silk illusion finger-
tip veil caught up by a rhinestone
tiara. She carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow roses, steph-
anotis, ribbons and trailing ivy;
The maid of honor, Miss Patsy
Willert, sister of the bride, wore
an identical floor length mauve
gown with a train and headpiece
accented with guipure lace.
She carried a basket of yellow
and mauve mums.
Similar gowns were worn by
the bridesmaids, Miss Nancy
Oesch, sister of the groom, and
Miss Sharon Willert, sister of
the bride. Miss Peggy Willert,
sister of the bride, was flower
girl gowned in a dress similar
to that of the maid of honor
but in yellow accented with dais)
trim lace.
Ringbearer was Paul Elliott of
Tavistock, cousin of the groom.
Best man was Barry Mousseau of
Hensall, cousin of the groom.
Don Oesch of Ottawa and Jerry
Oesch of Rochester, New York.

guests.
A reception was lJeld in the
Zuridi Community Centre. The
bride's mother wore a green
brocade dress with white access-
ories and pink carnation corsage.
The groom's mother chose a blue
lace dress with a corsage of red
carnations.
For a wedding trip to Bermuda,
the bride donned a two piece
white suit with accessories in
black and red carnation corsage.
Prior to the wedding the bride
was honoured at several showers.
The groom's parents entertained
after the wedding rehearsal.

Hensall United Church was the
setting for an early summer wedd-
ing when Mary Jackson, Seaforth,
and Ernest Whitehouse, Kippen
exchanged marriage vows before
the Rev. Harold F. Currie in a
double ring ceremony on June 7
at 3 p.m.
Attendants were Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Eggert of Egmondville,
and Miss Donna Whitehouse of
Kippen. The couple will reside
on the groom's farm at R. R. 2,
Kippen.
STECKLE - NORDAHL
St. George's Anglican Church
was the setting for a wedding
ceremony when Patricia Ann
Nordahl became the bride of
Ivan H. Steckle. Rev. Garwood
G. Russell officiated at the 4
p. m. nuptials.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Nordahl,
Goderich, The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Steckle
of Bayfield.
Marion Aldous played the
organ and selected traditional
wedding music.
The altar was adorned with
gold Victorian vases of pink and
white gladioli for the double
ring ceremony.
The bride was given in marr-
iage by her father. She wore a
floor length gown of white or-
ganza over raffeta with a wedd-
ing ring stand up collar. The
empire styled bodice was accent-
ed with guipure lace and short
puffed sleeves scattered with
daisy motif trim. A matching
bandeau and floor length veil of
silk illusion trimmed with daisy
motif formed her headdress.
Maid of honour, Miss Alice
Allen, Goderich, wore a pink
cotton gown with puffed sleeves
and Victorian bib trimmed with
Goshen Women

Film on China
Mrs. Roy McBride opened the
Goshen United Church Women's
meeting which was held at the
church, Thursday night, June 19.
Mrs. William Clarke gave the
scripture and comments, follower
with prayer by Mrs. Roy McBride,
Mrs. Anson McKinley had
charge of the business. Cards
were read from Mrs. John Mc-
Bride and Mrs. Arnold Keys.
Roll call was answered by the
members naming the friend
they brought with them.
Mrs. Bob McKinley introduced
the speaker, Rev. Mowatt, of
Clinton, who showed a film on
China and giving the comment-
ary. He also spoke of the good
and bad in China, as he spent
some time there. Mrs. Howard
Armstrong thanked Rev. Mowatt
for the very interesting film
shown.
Hymn 252 was sung and the
meeting closed with prayer by
Mrs. Keith McBride. A smorg-
asbord lunch was served by Mrs.
John Robinson's group.

dress was made with white or-
ganza bows centred with pink
tinted daisies and falling organza
ringlets. She carried a Victorian
bouquet of pink tinted daisies
and mums accented with clusters
of babies breath with matching
pink falling streamers.
Judy Nordahl, sister of the
bride was bridesmaid. She wore
a gown the same as the maid of
honour.
Gary Johnston, Varna, was
best man, and ushers were Jim
Kyle, Kippen and Robert Burnay,
Windsor.
Ringbearers were David and
Paul Taylor, St. Thomas, neph-
ews of the groom.
For a reception at the Tiger
Dunlop Inn the bride's mother
chose a lilac silk shantung
dress and coat ensemble with
white accessories. She wore a
corsage of baby pink sweetheart
roses.
The mother of the groom chose
a lemon yellow two piece knittec
suit with white accessories and
matching flowered headpiece.
She wore a corsage of deep
pink sweetheart roses.
For a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls and points south, the bride
wore a white fitted coat- with
deep navy blue accessories, and
an orchid corsage.
Out- of- townuests were pre-
sent from Stratford, St. Thomas,
London, Kitchener, Waterloo,
Oakville, Toronto, Kapuskasing,
Detroit, Clinton and surrounding
areas.
Bayfield Couple Married 50 Years Ago
Mr, and Mrs. Emerson Heard,
of Bayfield, celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary on
'Monday.
Last Saturday Mr. and Mrs.
Heard were guests at a family
dinner held at Trinity Church
Parish Hall.

Plan for Picnic
Mrs. Earl Campbell, N, G.
presided for the regular meeting
of Amber Rebekah Lodge held
Wednesday evening, June 18,
when a donation was made to the
Centennial Fund of the Rebekah
Assembly.
Plans were laid for the annual
I. 0.0. F. and Rebekah picnic
to be held at the community
park, Ilensall the first Sunday
in July.
The past Grand's reminded
of the Inaugural meeting in
Goderich, Wednesday, June 25,
which they will attend.

the former Annie Hewitt, daugh-
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William George Hewitt of Flint,
North Wales.
Mr. Heard was born in Stanley
Township and has lived in this
area all his life. •
Married at St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Clinton, by the late
Rev. S. E. McKegrey, the cou-
ple lived and farmedinStanley
Township until Mr. Heard's re-
tirement in 1951.
They are both members of the
Trinity Anglican Church, Mrs.
Heard was a member of tilt.
Women's Auxiliary for47 years
and is a former president. She
was also a member of the choir
for 40 years. She is an active
member and a past mistress of
;the L.O.B.A., Clinton.
Mr. Heard has been a member
of the L.O.L. No. 24, Bayfield,
for the past 59 years and is now
'secretary. He is also Master of
the Royal Black Knights.
The couple has two sons, Gor-
don of Seaforth and George of
Stanley Township and a daughter,
Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Kirkham of
London. There are three grand-
children, Donald, Linda and
Larry.
Mr. and Mrs. Heard received
many congratulatory messages
including ones from the Hon.
John Robarts, the Hon Charles
McNaughton, Robert McKinley,
MP for Huron and Hon. Robert
Stanfield.
