No Dental Service
In County Schools

1-luron County Board of Educat-
ion, at its meetin.F in Central
Huron Secondary School, Mon-
day evening, decided to refrain
from entering into any agree-
ment to provide free dental
inspection and treatment to the
pupils under its jurisdiction,
until June 30.
The motion, by two lady
members of the Board. 1'-Irs. J.
W, Wallace, Goderich and Mrs.
Marian Zinn, R. R. 1, Dungann-
on, following an explanation [ha'
the proposed agreement with
the Huron Board of Health only
covers inspection and treatment
of pupils in one of the county
schools, and that the inaugurat-
ion of such a program in all
public schools would be too
costly.
Action followed receipt of a
letter from the County Board of
Health that because of changes
in the variot.s boards of educat-
ion, it would be necessary to
execute a new agreement. It
was pointed out that for a num-
ber of years, Huron County
Board of Health had provided
for dental inspection and treat-
ment of pupils at the North
Ashfield Public School only.
Purchase of the following
"extras" for two portable class-
rooms at $7, 550 each, being
purchased from Halliday Monies
Limited, London, through their
agent, King Sales Limited, was
approved.
"Ozite" carpeting, $293; 16
foot library shelving, $165;
teacher's cupboard, $172,
upright unit shelving, $122;
pupils' coat rack, $99, total
cost, $851.
The septic system at the
Blyth Public School was discuss-
ed, with Mrs. Phyllis Street,
Blyth, in attendance at the
Board meeting as a delegation
of one.
After meeting with the arch-
itect and Huron County Health
Unit, the Board approved a
motion by Ivirs. J. W. Wallace,
Goderich, and A. Garnet Hicks,
R. R. 3, Exeter, "that D. J.
Cochrane (director of education)
work with the architects and
with the County health Unit to
prepare drawings of necessary
extension to title beds at the
school, and purchase sufficient
land to complete the work pend-
ing approval in writing of Mr.
Einpey.
Regarding the Neil Bell prop-
erty, Seaforth, D. J. Cochrane
guaranteed the work would be
done with Gordon Ileard, Sea -
forth, holding the contract.

requirements at the new admini-
stration offices is not ready yet,
according to Air. Cochrane,
