The bride's mother wore a navy double knit dress, navy hat, black patten accessories and a corsage of red carnations. Tlie groom's mother chose a, shocking pink crimpelene ress with matching coat and hat, white accessories and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses and white carnations. The $13, 300 pumper arrived from the C. E. Hickey and Son plant, in Hamilton about a month ago and has been used on two calls, It is owned jointly by the two townships and will be operated by the 20 -member Brucefield volunteer fire department. It replaces a 1949 model which is to be sold. The brigade also has an army truck equipped with a 1,000 gallon water tank and a portable pump, Fire Chief Stewart Broadfoot said the new truck makes his department fully equipped. The townships also share a four-year- old fire hall at Brucefield and the building sits atop large water tanks for refilling the pumper. Dan Daley of Galt, represent- ing the Hamilton firer, turned the keys over Tuesday night to Stanley Reeve Elmer Hayter and Tuckcrsmith Reeve Elgin Thomp- son in a brief ceremony attend- ed by many of the firemen and members of both councils. The new truck carries full equipment for eight men along with two air masks. One non- functional feature of the truck - hand worked gold leaf striping - has been admired by observers. She announced that the penny sale draw will be held Friday, June 6, and the Zcne Rally at Lucknow May 21, to which members will attend. A recent canvass of the village for the Red Cress realized $235.68, Mrs. John Skea won the guess- ing prize and Mrs. Mary Tay- lor the mystery prize. Bingo was played and lunch was served.
