Gingeri.clt's.
The league representatives
have tried to stake things more
interesting for both the fan:
and the players h) peeping
statistics of the homeruns,
runs hatred in, pitching and
batting averages. 1t is hoped
that some of the enthusiastic
businessmen will donate troph-
ies to the league for these
averages, as well as a pennant

Mat there has only been
three umpires signed up for the
year and ltc hopes that at least
three more will be willing ro
help out. If there isn't enough
umpires, rhe league will
probably have ro pay in order
to have umpires which they
cannot afford to do.
The 13100 water Boys have app -
coached the league and asked
to play on their diamond on the
13lucwater highway. The boys
have been working quire hard
and say it's in top shape for
their opening home game
against Gingerichs.
Charles Thiel, an American
Motors dealer in Exeter, has

MAKING SANDWICHES???
If you're on the planning
committee for spring teas,
bridal showers or any other
large-scale events, these
sandwich facts from the Food
Council, Ontario Department
of Agriculture and Food, will
be of help:
For a day -time reception of
mixed company, allow two
slices of bread per person.
At a ladies' gathering the host-
ess should allow one to one and
a half slices of bread per guest.
A one -pound loaf of bread
has about 130 -inch slices,
giving 15 sandwiches, while a
24 ounce load has about 40
slices, giving 20 sandwiches.
Day-old bread is best for
buttering, but for any rolled
sandwiches use the freshest
bread you can get so the sand-
wiches won't crack when rolled.
When buttering allow abbut
one teaspoon butter per bread
slice if the crusts are left on, .
and one half to one third tea-
spoon butter if the crusts will
be trimmed off. One pound of
Nutter will spread about 130
slices of bread or enough for
65 sandwiches.
