OWRC Approval
For Water Service
Near Grand Bend
., `The Hon. C. S. McNaughton
announced last week that the
Ontario Water Resources
Commission has approved a
waterworks system for a portion
of Stephen Township in the
vicinity of Lake Huron,
Estimated cost of the project
is $180, 845 and engineers
are B, M. Ross and Associates,
Goderich.
The water area designated
covers the summer resort area
north of Grand )rend on the
west side of Highway 21, as
well as the properties located
along the highway on the east
side.

Wein said the waterworks sys-
tem would supply about 200
property owners as well as
providing hydrants for fire
protection.
The subdivisions of Oakwood,
Kingsmere. Maple Grove and
Sunnyside are included in the
water area to he served,
The water will be supplied
from the OWRC water distribut-
ion plant at the north-west
corner of the township. A
secoudary line has already been
installed to serve Grand Bend
and it is expected this line will
he used to supply rte water for
township residents.

During the week of April 27
to May 3, the Exeter detach-
ment of the Ontario Provincial
Police investigated four acci-
dents, in which there were
no injuries listed.
On Tuesday, April 29, at
1:00 p.m. a truck operated
by Fred Keller of R, R, 3,
Dashwood, hacked into a park-
ed car operated by Marion
Miller of R. R, 2, Dashwood,
in Keller's driveway in Stephen
Township. Damage estimated
at $220. Provincial Constable
W. G, Glassford investigated.
On Tuesday, April 29, at
5:30 p, m, a farm wagon being
pulled by a tractor operated
by Keith D. Volland, llensall,
broke loose and struck a parked
car operated by William 11.

mond Street in llensall, Damage
estimated at $100. Provincial

On Thursday, Ntay 1 at 4:00
ani,, a car operated by Peter
A. Bissett of Goderich was
proceeding north on No, 4
highway and went into the
ditch causing $100 damage to
the car, Provincial Constable

Seven charges were laid
under the highway Traffic
Act and one under the Liquor
Control Act, while there
were 26 warnings given under
the Highway Traffic Act.
The detachment also investi-
gated one break-in and one
case of theft, while there were
12 other investigations carried
out. There was one charge
laid under the Criminal Code
of Canada.
