HomeMy WebLinkAboutZurich Citizens News, 1969-05-01, Page 6PAGE SIX ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS County School Area System to Consist Of 17 High Priced Employees in Future John Cochrane, Huron County's director of education, envisions a 17 -member administrative staff for the school system and the board of education meeting in Clinton Monday night approved an organizational chart based on that number of head office staffers. Six of the 17 have been hired already and applicat- ions are being sought for three more openings. The remaining positions will be filled when the need develops, Iter. Cochrane said. Already appointed or on the payroll besides I'dr. Cochrane are a business administrator, school superintendent, two assistant superintendents and a secretary. The board has advertised for applicants for the positions of plant superintendent, chief accountant and office manager ( one job) and manager of purchasing and services. The chart calls for eventual creation of eight more jobs: a secretary - receptionist, two accounting clerks, a pay- roll supervisor and four clerk typists. The board als o named a nine -member vocational advisory committee and replaced two of the five members o f the newly named arbitration comm:ttee. Board Chairman, John Lavis will head the vocational panel which will include Cordon W. Muir of Coderich, W. N. Counter of C linton, Lorne Kleinstiver of r'ashwood (representing the Exeter district) and Richard Wehmever of Wingham. Also on the committee will be four board members: Mrs. Marilyn Kunder, Seaforth; John Broad - foot, R. R. 1, Brucefield; Gordon Moir of Gorrie and Garnet Hicks, R. R. 3, Exeter. The vocational advisory committee's duties are to commence September 1, the board decided. The board held for study by the new plant superintend- ent a proposal that watchmen be hired to protect Goderich District Collegiate on a 24- hour basis from May until October. The board tabled a proposal that McKillop Township school buses be equipped with two- way radios to summon help and improve sched uling.
