THEY'RE CHAMPS—The Zurich Flyers last week walked
off with all the trophies available in the WOAA intermediate D
series, when they came from behind and downed Kurtsville two

The Zurich Flyers have accept-
ed the challenge from Crediton
Tigers, winners of the WOAA
Intermediate C title, for a series
to declare a grand champion in
WOAA Intermediate hockey.
First game_of the series was
played last night, Wednesday,
in the Huron Park arena at Centr-
alia, where all the games are
scheduled for,
Zurich's home game will be
played this Friday night at Centr-
alia, and the third game of the
series is scheduled for Sunday
evening, at the same location.
All games will get under way at
8:30 p.m.
Crediton boasts a strong line-up
this season and have just completec
a gruelling seven -game series
with Kincardine to win the C title.
Among players on their team are
Bill Chipchase, Bill Hoffman, Crai
Chapman, Glenn Overholt and
Dennis Morrissey. The series
promises to be a real thriller.

give them a 3-2 lead at the end
of the first.
Carlile scored the only goal
during the well-playedsecond
period to tie the game at 3-3.
In the third session there was
no holding the Flyers back and in
the first three minutes they had
pumped three goals by an astonish-
ed Kurtsville goalie. At the four -
minute mark Kurtsville came up
with their final maker of the game,
and then in the last ten minutes
of the game Zurich banged in
three more big goals.
Only two penalties were called
in the game, with each team pick•i
ing up one of them.
The arena in Palmerston was
packed with fans for the game,
with a good half of them coming
from the Zurich area.

Johnston.
Lorne Daer, again filling in for
Paul Steckle in the Zurich net,
came up with another steallar
performance and turned aside many
shots which could just as easily
have been goals.
