THE FOOD WAS TASTY—Two of the peo-
ple who attended the annual Sauerkraut Supper
in Zurich last Wednesday night were obviously
quite pleased with the taste of the meal. Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Meidinger are shown here as
they enjoyed their servings of ribs and sauer-
kraut.
ST. JOSEPH and DRYSDALE
(ALFRED DUCHARME, Correspondent)
On Tuesday last Mrs. Tyrus
Stansberry of Grosse Point, Michi-
gan, picked up two other daughter
of the Senior Ducharme's of this
highway to spend a few days with
their parents, Mr. and Mts. Fred
Ducharme. Needless to say, the
trio were welcomed. As usual
during their visit there was some
moving about and changes in the
old home and during its process
there were moments of gaiety
renewing past incidents and even
delving into their childhood days.
Of course there were times when
all relaxed. There is much to be
said about a large family of its
many years and when such was
brought up in their conversation
it was interesting. To make
things more joyful another daugh-
ter, Mrs. T. Hartman, from Zur-
ich, also was present for sometime
during the trio's stay. Also other
members from the surrounding
joined them at times.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bedard from
Seaforth spent a few days the past
week in this neighbourhood. Both
are natives from this parish. They
were visitors with Mrs. Adel ine
Denomme also with Mr. and Mrs.
Garfield Denomme.
On Saturday last visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Denomme
was their son, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie
Denomme of London.
Mr. and Mrs. Myron Quigley of
Detroit, also Mr. and Mrs. J.
Dorion and family, spent the
weekend at the Quigley summer
home. Mrs. Dorion is a daughter
to the Quigley's.

EARLING SEEDING
At time of writing the sun is
pouring out its sun rays and all
seems we. are living in a world
dominated by peace among all
nations of the world. All of that
(Citizens News Photo)
is beautiful and all of that is ex-
pected by all. Why, because
for several years past no one or
nations knew they were living in
God's created world. Today as
we see things the tide has turned
with a possible chance that all
will realize that we are habiting
God's world. This passing spring
is much different than many past
ones, so far so good and if it con-
tinues nice weather, farmers will
be busy on their land. It could be
an early seeding which is believe
by many early planting is more
rewarding than late draggy seed-
ing. So let us hope for the best
and may peace reign again in
this wide opened world.

Warning Against
Heavy Smoking
Quitting smoking isn't easy.
Some try and don't make it. But,
if you haven't noticed, more and
more people are trying, and are
making it.
If you want to be one of the
quitters, one thing is certain,
it's up to you and no one else.
But for some help along the way,
her are few tips from the federal
health department publication,
"So, I'm Living Dangerously".
A good time to kick the habit
is when there is a change in
routine --a holiday, a few days in
bed with a cold, a business trip,
in fact anything that feels like a
fresh start. If you need to stop
because of an illness or choose to
stop on a holiday, why start again
List your reasons for stopping
and the benefits you expect to
gain, so you can refer to them
when you feel you might slip.
Stop carrying cigarettes. It'
will break the automatic habit of
reaching for one.
Quit "cold" if you can. If you
can't cut down and consciously
stop inhaling. Then gradually
reduce until you quit altogether.
This is easier when cigarettes are
out of reach.
Let others know of your intent-
ion. Knowing that others are
keeping an eye on you will help
strengthen your resolution.
Team up with someone to make
the break --especially a husband
or wife, .boyfriend. It helps to
share your experience.

LIFE INSURANCE FOR
DAIRY CALVES?
If such were possible it would probably be a popular
policy with Canadian Dairymen. Losses from calf
deaths during the first 6 weeks of age are often fre-
quent.
Many professional dairy herd managers are now
routinely injecting all new-born calves with
