I. was climaxed with a turkey banquet held at the home of M.s. Charles Eyre, £gmondville, Wednesday evening, April The losing side, captained by Mrs. M. Connolly, served the supper and the winning side, captained by Mrs. James Drummond, provided the entertainment. Various contests and readings provided a great deal of merri- ment and six tables of euchre were in play. Winners were , first, Mrs. Ross Broadfoot, second, Mrs. William Bell; low, Mrs. Joyce Cooper; lone hands, Mrs. Charles Eyre. A chocolate bunny was raffled off to provide $10 for the Bunny Bundle. Winner of the draw was Mrs. Rodge Hoornaert. 0 Four Men Join Bayfield Club Harry Baker presided over .he regular dinner meeting of Bay- field Lions Club, held at the Little Inn. Guest speaker of the evening was Constable Gordon Ferris, a court and safety officer of Ontario Provincial Police. He spoke on safety on the roads and "the nut behind the wheel." Constable Ferris also showed graphic pictures of "suicide on the highways." Four new members were presented to the club: John Lindsay, sponsored by Les Elliott; Pat Graham, sponsored by Elwood Mitchell; Clare Merner, sponsored by Charles Scotchmer and Fred Le Beau, sponsored by Fred Arkell. i TODAY'SCHILD BY HELEN ALLEN This beautiful baby is Timothy who needs a mother and father to love him. He has just had his first birthday and is developing very well, reaching most milestones ahead of the average. His background is English except for one Indian great grandparent, from whom he probably inherited his sparkling dark eyes. He is a healthy, active boy, big for his age, with scanty black hair and rather fair skin. Timothy has a bubbling, happy personality, with a ready smile showing his proud new front teeth. He has had no IQ tests, but is well co-ordinated and appears very bright and intelligent. He needs parents who will appreciate his Indian heritage and who will provide a home atmosphere with a great deal of stimulation. Mack of Crediton presiding. Plans were discusses for the district annual to be held Thursday, May 22, at Elimville United (-hutch-- an all day session. Instead of having a speaker this year a display of crafts from each branch will be shown. There will be a competition for he branches for eight slides showing, two for each season of the year.
