Kitchen Kuties Try
Pork Recipes

The fifth meeting of Zurich
Kitchen Kuties was held March 5,
at 7:00 p.rn. at the bonne of Mrs.
Pon Oke. Two people did not
answer the roll call which was
"one way our family serves pork."
During the business we talked
about a trip to Kitchener on March
:.0, to see Schneider's Meat Pack-
ing Plant.
Sally's group demonstrated how
to make pork hocks and cabbage.
We discussed pork and pork cook-
ery and cuts of pork with suggest-
ions for cooking.
The home assignment was to,
if possible, try a recipe using pork
and report results in record book.
The next meeting will be held
at Mrs. Oke's home on March 19,
at 7:00 p.m.
Zurich Peewees
Win at Goderich
The Zurich Peewees are very
much alive in the Young Canada
Hockey Tournament being played
this week in Goderich, when they
came up with two big victories
on Monday to earn them a berth
in the semi-final playoffs on
Saturday. In the morning they
clobbered Paisley 10-2 and then
in the afternoon they came up
with a big 7-2 victory over Grand
Bend.
Against Paisley, Zurich crew
scored three goals in both the
first and second periods, and then
added four more big markers in
rhe third. Paisley picked up both 1
their goals in the third period.
Gerald Weido with five goals,
and Pat Bedard with three, were
the big scoring punch against
Paisley. Derek O'Brien and
David Clarke both accounted
for single markets.
In the afternoon contest against
Grand Bend, the locals started out
slowly scoring once in the first
and adding two more in the sec-
ond. Their best effort carne in
the third period when they bang-
ed in four more big goals. Grand
Bend scored once in the second
and once in the third.
Pat Bedard was the big gun for
Zurich scoring three goals against
the summer resorters. Richard
Mommersteeg, David Clarke,
Gerald Weido and Bill Bedard
each scored once.
For Grand Bend Harry Smith
scored both goals.
The next game in the "one -loss
you're out" tourney for the Zur-
ich crew will be played on Sat-
urday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. and
if they should be fortunate enough
to win this game they would play
in the final championship series
at 8 p.m. in the evening.
WOAA PEEWEE CHAMPIONS ---- The Zurich Peewees
recently won the WOAA .Championship, and this week are
playing Plattsville in OMHA playdowns. Back row, left to

Hawks Win Berth
In Finals of Zurich
House League
The Hawl:s eliminated the
Canadians from Zurich House
League action on Saturday mor-
ning, when they beat them 5-3
to take the series in two straight.
In other action the Leafs fell one
point short of ousting the Bruins
when they only managed to come
up with a 2-2 tie, leaving them
with three points, one short of
the required amount. House
League action resumed this
morning Thursday, instead of
Saturday due to the Peewees takini.
part in the Goderich tournament
on Saturday.
The Hawks scored once in the
first, and added two more in both
the second and third periods to
ring up their second playoff vic-
tory over the Canadians. Richard
Regier scored twice, while Larry
Smith, Dave Clarke and Kim
McKinnon each scored one.
The Canadiens scored one in
the second and added two more
in the third period. Their marks-
men were Bill Bedard, Fred Mom-
mersteeg and Danny Meidinger.
In the 2-2 tie game between
the Bruins and the Leafs, all four
goals were scored in the second
period. Marksmen were Richard
Mommersteeg and Greg Love for
the leafs. while Pat Bedard scor-
ed both goals for the Bruins, who
had been early favourites to take
all.
