Zurich Peewees Eliminate Ilderton
But Lose First Game to Plattsville
The Zurich Peewees, after
eliminating the Ilderton Pee-
wees from the quarter finals in
OMHA competition in two
straight games, ran up against
their stiffest competition of the
season on Tuesday night, when
they suffered an 8-3 defeat at
the hands of Plattsville. The
game was the first in the best -
of -three semi-finals in the OMHA
series.
Second game in this series
will be played in Zurich on Fri-
day night, beginning at 7 p.m.,
and if a third game is necessary
it will be played next Tuesday
night, in Zurich also.
Pat Bedard was the star of
the game for Zurich, even though
they went down to defeat, as he
banged in three big goals, one in
each period.
Plattsville scored on in the
first, added two more in the
second, and then carne up with
five more big goals in the third
period.
Eight penalties were called
in the game, with five of them
going to Zurich.
ZURICH 13 - ILDERTON 3
Zurich eliminated the Ild-
erton PeeWees last Friday night.,
when they thumped them 13-3 in
the second game of their OMHA
guarter finals, played at the
Zurich Arena. Earlier in the
week Zurich had edged the Ild-
erton crew 7-6 in the Lucan Arena
Gerald Weido, with five big
goals, was the star of the game
for Zurich. Pat Bedard' and Kim
McKinnon each chipped in with •
three, while Barry Hess and Rich-
ard Mommersteeg both scored
once.
Zurich came up with a two -
goal lead in the first period, but
saw this lead disappear early in
the second when Brian McNeil
scored twice for the visitors. Be-
fore the period ended, however,
Pat Bedard had scored two of
his three goals to give the locals
a 4-2 lead.
It was in the third period
that Zurich went on their big
scoring rampage and banged in
nine more goals. Six of them
came before Ilderton finally
retaliated with one more, off
the stick of Brian McNeil again.
Eleven penalties were hand -
Canvass For
May 24 Fireworks
Twelve members of the
Hensall volunteer fire dept-
ment canvassed the village on
Monday night, for funds to pur-
chase fireworks for May 24.
Approximately $200 was col-
lected, but more is still required.
Anyone who was missed but would
like to donate should leave their
donations with wither Gerald
Flynn or Bill Fuss.

with one of their best efforts of
the season in this big victory,
over the favoured Ilderton Team.
Their passes were working per-
fectly, and the whole team
checked hard from beginning to
end.

WARBLE FLY CONTROL
Township of Hay
1. APPLICATIONS will be received by the Township of
Hay for the position of WARBLE FLY INSPECTOR for
the year 1969. Inspector must be familiar with the
Warble Fly Act and must keep an accurate record of
cattle sprayed.
2. TENDERS will be received by the Township of Hay for
spraying cattle for Warble Ply control at price per head.
3. TENDERS will be received for supplying Warble Fly
Powder at price per pound to be delivered to the Town-
ship Shed.
SEALED TENDERS for each of the above, clearly marked
as to contents, will be received by the undersigned until
March 15th, at 12:00 noon.
Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
