Mr. and Mrs, Fred Ducharme
spent Sunday last at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Avila Ducharme on
the Blue Water south. The occa-
sion was the elderly Mrs. Du-
charme's nearing 85th birthday.
Mrs. Ducharme had as usual at
such a celebration a birthday cake
with all the trimmings. Those
taking part along with the family
greeted the mother Ducharme with
many good wishes and many more
happy birthdays. The senior Du-
charmes returned to their home
at an early hour and happy of the
birthday celebration to the oldest
mother in this parish. Thanks to
the host and hostess.
Some time ago I wrote two ar-
ticles on the month of November.
For me the month of November
had much to think of. What I had
written in those long past Novem-
ber months were only passing
briefs picked up at random trying
to give you my ways of going
through my young life. The ca=
reer of a rambler from one land
to another—my greatest ambition

ways of people in other lands.
That was pleasing and as well in-
teresting to me.
The first November, in the year
1894, was the passing of the win-
ter months in a lumbering camp
in the northern part of this prov-
ince. There was much for me to
see and to learn during those few
months in camp, returning to my
native home land in early spring
of 1895. From then on strolling
from one place to another till the
second month of November, which
was in the year of 1900. That
month had much in common, a
month that I will remember of the
death of my rambling partner—his
sudden death in a Michigan lum-
bering camp, killed by a falling
tree. All of that •occurred in my
second month of November. From
then on I feared to undertake a
voyage in the month of November,
perhaps it was only supersition on
my part. It being my last until
the year of 1903 my sight-seeing
had tome to a halt. Concerning
my last November move, if all goes
well, my book will be published
in the early spring of my nine
years on the road, which will cover
the last November month and other
movements during those nine
years.

Zurich Flyers Trounce Blyth I3-6; Take
Over First Place hi Intermediate Group
The Zurich Flyers cavae up with
a convincing 13-6 victory over
Blyth on Tuesday night to take
over undisputed possession of first
place in their WOAA Intermediate
D grouping. Prior to the game
both teams were tied for first
place. This Friday night the Fly-
ers play hosts to the same Blyth
team at the Zurich arena, in their
last scheduled meeting of the sea-
son before the playoffs.

Zurich and Hensall PeeWees
fought to a 2-2 tie in a game played
Tuesday night at the Zurich Arena.
Jamie Caldwell paced the Hensall
attack with two goals, while Gerald
Weido and Kim McKinnon each
scored one for Zurich.
Hensall took a 1-0 lead in the
first period, and increased it to
2-0 early in the second on Cald-
well's second goal. Midway through
the second Weido scored to put
Zurich back into contention.
Early in the third McKinnon
scored his goal to tie the score,
and neither team could score from
that point on as both Wayne Oke
in the Zurich net and William Web-
ster in the Hensall net turned aside
many hard shots.
Only one penalty was handed
out, and that to Zurich in the third
period.
in the first period, and increased
it to 10.4 by the finish of the sec-
ond stanza.
Five Zurich players each scored
two goals: Bob Johnston, George
Suplat, Bob Merner, Bob Carlile
and Larry Willert. Single markers
came off the sticks of Dick Bedard,
Aubrey Bedard and Ken Smale.
An interesting feature of the
first period was that Bob Johnston
played goal for Zurich, in the ab-
sence of regular netminder Paul
Steckle. In his first venture in
the net he allowed Blyth only one
goal as he kicked aside many shots
that were labelled for sure goals.
Steckle replaced hien in the second
period and finished the game in
goal.
Only two minor penalties were
handed out in the game, with both
going to Zurich.
