Jeffrey came up with numerous
sensational stops as he turned
in just as brilliant a perform-
ance as his rival at the other
end of the arena.
The Dominions came out fly-
ing in the third, but it took
then until the 11:43 mark until
they were finally able to beat
Wildgust, with Kevin McKin-
non eaptializing on a neat pass-
ing play with Butch Fleet and
Bill Stirling. Then just 24 sec-
onds later Fleet banged in. the
equalizer on a pas; from Mc-
kinnon and Don .13artliff, much
to the delight of the 300 home-
town fans. From that point an
the locals tried everything in
the book to score another goal,
hut they were constantly foiled
in their attempts by the Mitch-
ell goalie.
Unlike all previous Zurich -
Mitchell games, only 18 penal-
ties were handed out in the
game, with the visitors draw-
ing 11 of them.

Playing in Mitchell on Friday
night, the Zurich Dominions
came up with their poorest ef-
fort of the season when they
were thumped 9-3.
The teams split even in the
first period, with Bob Moir and
Mel Hohner notching the Zur-
ich markers. However, it was
in the second period when the
Dominions fell apart. allowing
the Hawks to score six unan-
swered goals.
Both teams came up with a
single goals in the third period,
with Kevin McKinnon register-
ing for Zurich.
A total of 28 penalties were
handed out in the game, with
15 of them going to Zurich, in-
cluding three bench miscues.
Zurich 6—Hanover 1
Bill Stirling scored two goals
to lead Zurich Dominions to a
6-1 win over Hanovver Hurri-
canes in OHA Junior "D" hoc-
key Tuesday night, in Hanover.
Butch Fleet, Brian Decker,
Ron Corriveau and Bob Moir
added a goal each for the win-
ners. Doug Ellis scored for
Hanover.
Zurich outshot the Hurricanes
58-18.

Zurich Flyers Tie Monkton; Host Blyth
Friday Night in Intermediate Action
The Zurich Flyers managed to
salvage a 3.3 tie against Monk -
ton last Friday night in WOAA
Intermediate hockey competi-
tion. Tliey led 3-1 with only
about three minutes left to play
in the game, but a last minute
surge by the Wildcats resulted
in a tie score. The game was
played in Monkton, and the next
home goine will be this Friday
night when the Flyers take on
the Blyth Merchants in the Zur-
ich Arena at 8:30 p.in.
George Suplat gave the Flyers
a one -goal edge midway through
the first period. In less than one
minute in the second, Monk -
ton evened things up when Lev-
ington slipped one by Paul Stec-
kle, in the Zurich net. Midway
through the period, Larry Wil-
lert scored to give the Flyers a
2-1 lead.
With only five minutes left
in the third period, George Su -
plat rifled another shot into the
Monkton net to give Zurich
what looked like a comfortable
lead. Then at the 16:48 mark
the roof fell in for the locals,
as the Wildcats came up with
House League Play
At Zurich Arena
The Hawks and Bruins played
to a 2-2 tie while the Canadiens
trounced the Leafs 4-0 last Sat-
urday morning in Zurich House
League hockey.
Randy McKinnon and Pat
Bedard each scored once for the
Bruins, while Kim McKinnon
blinked the red light both times
for the Hawks.
In the Canadiens win Greg
Love led the scoring attack with
two goals, while Billy Bedard
and Brad Oke each scored one.
The House League action con-
tinues every Saturday morning
at the Zurich Arena, beginning
at 8 a.m.

The Zurich PeeWees, led by
Pat Bedard with four goals,
came up with a 7-1 victory over
Adastral Park; in Zurich on
Tuesday night. Gerald Weido
aided the local's cause with two
goals. ah
Bedard, Weido and Tim West
all scored once in the first
period for Zurich, while Wayne
Meidinger was busy in the Zur-
ich net keeping the visitors off
the scoresheet.
Weido scored his second goal
early in the second period, be-
fore Robbie Fischer finally
found the range for the Adastral
Park crew.
It was Pat Bedard all the way
in the third period, as he chalk-
ed up his other three goals.
While they did not score any
goals for the locals the line of
Brad Oke, Derek O'Brien and
Barry Hess played very well,
missing several chances by nar-
row margins.
Only three penalties were
handed out in the game, with
all of them going to the visitors.

Paul Steckle and Garry Geof-
frey shared the goal -tending
duties for Zurich, with Steckle
playing the first two periods
and Geoffrey the third.

Zurich Bantams
Win Adastral Park
The Zurich Bantams won their
opening game last Wednesday
night in the local arena, when
they came up with a 6-5 victory
over the Adastral Park team.
R. Clark shot Zurich into an
early lead in the first period,
while the visitors were held off
the scoresheet. In the second
period P. Hesse and R, Rader
each scored once, while Wood-
cock registered for the visitors.
P. Bedard, G. Weido and D.
Jeffrey each scored once in the
third period before Sparks
caught fire for the Adastral
Park .crew and banged in three
goals. Sinker fired the final
goal for the visitors to bring
his team within range of tying
the game, but the Zurich crew
hung on to their one -goal lead.
Nine penalties were handed
out in the game, with four going
to Zurich and five to Adastral
Park.
The Zurich Squirts, in their
first home game of the season,
registered an impressive 4-0 vic-
tory over the Adastral Park
Squirts, on Tuesday evening.
The two teams played on even
terms throughout the first peri-
od, and then midway through
the second stanza Wayne Clark
broke the ice when he scored
for Zurich. Within the next
three minutes both Stephen Ha-
berer and Danny Meidinger
found the range for the locals,
to give them a 3-0 lead.
Wayne Schilbe scored the
only goal of the third period,
to give the Zurich crew their
victory.
