Mrs. Harry Pennings, RR 1, Zurich, visited her
native country recently, she had the pleasure of
visiting an aunt who celebrated her 107th birthday.
Left to right in this photo are Mrs. Pennings, her
aunt, Sister Baselides, and her father, Theodore
Braam, both of DenBosch, Holland. Her aunt is
the oldest resident of the country. For Mrs. Pen-
nings the visit was her first return since she came
to Canada 15 years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. David Blackwell
and the latter's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Miller, of Exeter,
attended the funeral of •a rela-
tive, Mrs. Ray Miller, at Listo-
wel, on Friday afternoon. Mrs.
Miller was killed in a car -train
crash.

35th ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. J. Wes Richard-
son, who celebrated their 35th
wedding anniversary on Satur-
day. November 23, were hon-
ored with a surprise party held
at the home of their daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Cooper.
The event was attended by 25
relatives from London, Peter-
borough, Tillsonburg, Zurich
and Hensall, who presented
them with many lovely gifts and
good wishes.
For entertainment progressive
euchre was played and winners
were Mrs. James Stokes, of Lon-
don, and Wes Richardson. A
smorgasbord luncheon, includ-
ing an anniversary cake, was
served.

TOWNSHIP OF HAY
BY-LAW No. 17, 1968
A BY-LAW TO RAISE $500,000.00 TO AID IN THE
CONSTRUCTION OF TILE, STONE OR TIMBER DRAINS,
The Council of the Township of Hay, pursuant to The
Tile Drainage Act, enacts as follows:
1 -THAT the Reeve may from time to time, subject to the
provisions of this by-law, borrow on the credit of the
corporation of the Municipality such sum, not exceeding
in the whole $500,000.00 as may be determined by the
Council, and may in manner hereinafter provided, issue
debentures of the corporation in such sums as the
Council may deem proper for the amount so borrowed,
with coupons attached as provided in section 4 of the
said Act.
2 --THAT, subject to Section 10 of The Tile Drainage Act,
when the council is of opinion that the application of
any person to borrow money for the purpose of con-
structing a tile, stone or timber dram should be granted
in whole or in part, the Council may, by resolution,
direct the Reeve to issue debentures as aforesaid and
to borrow a sum not exceeding the amount applied for,
and may lend the same to the applicant on the com-
pletion of the drainage works
3 -THAT a special rate shall be imposed, levied and col-
lected over and above all other rates upon the land in
respect of which the money is borrowed, sufficient for
the payment of the principal and interest as provided
by the Act.
4 -THAT Bylaw No. 9 of 1960 is hereby repealed for the
purposes of further borrowing.
5 -THAT By-law No. 9 of 1960 shall remain the authority
for all monies borrowed under it until June 3, of 1978,
upon which time the powers of By-law No. 9 of 1960
shall be terminated.
6 -This By-law shall not come into effect until formal
order has been received from the Ontario Municipal
Board.

publication of this notice, and must make his application
to the Supreme Court of Ontario within one month after
