Alfred Ducharme, Correspondent
On Sunday last visitors at
the home of Mrs. Josephine
Ducharme and son Isidore were
from London, Mr. and Mrs
Leonard Masse, Mr. and Mrs
Claude Gelinas and Sister Fran-
cis Baugia, also Sister Marie
Laliment. The former Sister is
the daughter of Mrs. Dureharme
and the latter is a niece. All
are from London.

this neighborhood in company
with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Corriveau

riveaus being godparents to the

At time of writing we are
told that Mrs. Dolph Sopha,

ing, however, it will be some
time before she will be fully
recovered.

wish him a speedy recovery.
65th Anniversary
On Saturday last Mr, and Mrs.
Alfred Ducharme of this St.
Joseph parish entered the
church to renew their marriage
vows of 65 years ago. It being
on Saturday to give a chance to
all of their children to attend
but the real date was November
25. All of their 11 children at-
tended, relatives and many par-
ishioners, to witness the occa-
sion and ceremony officiated by
Monsignor Bourdeau. All was
0 inspiring and as well touching
to the celebrants and to the
children; also the kind words
of praise voiced by Monsignor
Bourdeau
We believe the Ducharmes
have the distinction of being
the oldest living married couple
in the history of this parish.
There are reasons for the elder
Ducharmes to be proud of their
long life even though at times
they were sailing on rough
water. They had from the be-
ginning resolved to take what
married life had in common for
them and with that in mind
worries of married life were
left behind.

freshments to make the day an
enjoyable one. The Ducharme
home was well prepared to wel-
come all and make things pleas-
ing for all.
After all had partaken of the
goodies and sitting at ease, son
Blaise, who was master of cere-
monies, called on some of the
guests to say a few words on
the occasion. It also was the
occasion of their daughter and
son-inlaw's 35th wedding anni-
versary. That, too, added to
the gaiety of the day.
Blaise read a very interesting
and touching address to his
parents.
In the afternoon there were
several callers to greet the cele-
brants with gifts and good wish-
es for all. The Ducharmes wish
to thank all who answered to
the invitations with their gifts,
congratulations and wishes for
more happy years. They wish
to thank Monsignor Bourdeau
for his part which was very in-
spiring, the choir, the altar boys
and all who witnessed the cere-
mony. We also thank Mr. and
Mrs. Avila Ducharme for giving
us full access to their home,
and last, but not least, the Du-
charmes wish to thank God for
choosing them among the few
for the privilege and right to
live 65 years of married life
together.
