Members of Hensall Kinsmen and Kinettes entertained pa- tients at the Ontario Hospital, ,Goderich, to an evening of en- tertainment on Wednesday eve- ning, adding brightness to their lives, Mr, and Mrs. Leonard Noakes entertained members of council. and their wives with dinner and a social evening, The members of council and wives presented Mrs. Noakes with two lovely plaques. Kippen East Women's Institute Hear Interesting Report on Indian Affiars Kippen East WI met on No- vember 20 in Hensall Legion Hall, and had as their guest speaker Mrs. Miner, of Thames Road Church, who spoke on the Sarnia Indian Reserve as she saw it while serving there with her husband as missionaries. Mrs. Miner was introduced by Mrs. Alex McGregor and thank- ed by Mrs. John A. McGregor. She showed interesting pictures and samples of Indian hand craft. The roll call was answered by "Should we open our doors to all immigrants", and after hearing Mrs, Miner the mem- bers could not help but feel that their duty is to our first citizens, the Indians. Report on agriculture was given by Mrs. Vern Alderdice; current events by Mrs. James Drummond; home economics, Mrs. Glenn Bell. Mrs. Joyce Cooper chaired the program and Mrs. Robert Kins- man gave the motto, which was prepared by Miss Margaret Me - Kay, "Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements in the future". Mrs. William Caldwell gave two readings. The 4-H Club girls presented their exhibit and Miss Diane McKay gave the commentary. The girls modelled their dresses which they have made during this club and their leader, Mrs. Ken McLean commented on the course. Mrs. McLean and her assistant, Mrs. Alma Windsor, were presented with gifts in appreciation of their work in this club, by the public relations officer, Mrs Harry Caldwell. Lunch was served by the host- esses, Mrs. Robert Bell, Mrs. Grant MacLean, and the com- mittee in charge. 0— Set Plans For Hensall Stores Santa vill pay his annual visit to Hensall on Saturday after- noon, December 14, at 2 p.m., for the annual Christmas party for the children of Hensall and district. The children will be treated to chocolate bars, potato chips, chocolate milk (compli- ments of Hurondale Dairy) and a free show in the town hall. There will be free skating in Hensall Arena Saturday after- noons during December and January. Due to inclement weather Brussels Lodge was unable to attend, which will be arranged at a later date. Donations were made to the Children's Aid, Goderich; local Guide and Brownie .Association; at Barrie for their Christmas Oddfellows and Rebekah Home party, and United Nations Pil- grimage Committee at Clinton.. A, PARSONS Mrs. Archie Parsons, of RR 2, llensall, passed 'away in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Wednesday, November 20, where she had been a Patient since October 6, The former Alice E. Linden, she was in her 60th year. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Kippen, and a member of Amber Rebekah Lodge, Hensall. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Gerald, Thamesford; Harold, Seaforth; Donald, at home; her mother, Mrs. Joseph Linden, Ilderton; two sisters, Auxiliary Draw The money doll, a project of Hensall Legion Ladies' Auxili- ary, covered with 20 one -dollar bills and valued at $25, is on display in Taylor's Ready -to - Wear and will be drawn for on Monday, December 23. The doll, beautifully decorated, was the artistry of Mrs, Grant McClin- chey, a member of the Aux- iliary.
