Hockey fans throughout this
area are in for a real treat this
Sunday afternoon, when the
Zurich Dominions, local entry
:•n OHA Junior "D" competi-
tion. open their season against
-he highly -touted bi i t c h e 11
Hawks. Mitchell won the all
Ontario Junior D championship
last year, and should provide
real opposition for the locals in
;he opener.
The idea of junior hockey in
Zurich is something new, and
team officials are hoping for a
large turnout of fans to see this
opening game on Sunday. Game
time is 2 p.m. The Dominions
will be sporting brand new uni-
forms this season, through the
courtesy of Ross and Marg
Johnston. of the Dominion Hotel.
Appropriately, the team is be-
ing called The Dominions. The
new colors are white with red
trim, while the pants are black
with red and white trim.
Plans for the organizing of a
junior team in Zurich started
early this fall, when several
meetings were held to discuss
the possibility. After weeks of
hard work, a contending team
has been rounded out, and fans
can be sure they will give a
good account of themselves this

McKinnon, while coach is Hal
Flaro. Jerry Rader will serve
as trainer of the squad.
Playing goal for the team will
be Rick Jeffrey, a star of many
Zurich minor teams over the
years. His back-up man will be
Gary Kyle, a product of the
Hensall minor hockey program.
At the present time there are
seven defencemen with the club.
They are Don Bartliff, Bruce
Schoenhals, both of Clinton juv-
enile fame; Kirk Lyndon, a
former Clinton and Hensall
minor star; Brian Decker, a

When cattle move into a new environment, they
stress. Stress means a slow down in growth rate

your cattle aren't doing their best costs you money.

fortified with antibiotics, this palatable low energy
feed is designed especially to help overcome the
stress placed on cattle when moved into a feedlot.

ton minor teams.
Up front coach Flaro has d3i11
Stirling, a former Clinton minor
star, from the Bayfield area,
"Butch" Fleet and Mel Hohner,
both former members of the
Clinton juveniles, playing as one
unit. Another line has Kevin
McKinnon, who played for Exe-
ter Juniors last year and Zurich
Juveniles prior to that; Bob
Moir, of Hensall, who also
played for Exeter last year, and
John McKinley, of Zurich minor
hockey fame. Still another unit
has brothers Ron and Paul Cor-
riveau, both former stars with
Zurich minor teams, and Stew
Mustard, of Brucefield., playing
together. Also working out on
various forward lines are Leo
Desjardine and Barry Clarke,
both of Grand Bend, and Hal
Flaro, of Varna,
Sponsor of The Dominions is

ciation, an organization headed
by president Doug O'Brien.

UNITED
WHO?
Yes, "United Breeders" is
what the man said, Ara-
bella. The familiar voice
at the familiar number
DIDN'T say
"Central Ontario
Cattle Breeders"
or
"Waterloo
Cattle Breeders"
or
"Lambton
Cattle Breeders"
You see, we're all one now.
We've united to provide an
artificial insemination serv-
ice that will give you not
only a better calf next
year, but even better ones
in years to come.
So don't worry about being
a two-timer, Arabella. You
will get the same sires as
always, by calling the of-
fices listed in your new
phone book under . .

For any persons who are not
acquainted with the term, "jun-
ior", this simply means that the
players must be young men who
were born after January 1, 1948,
or in other words Hurst be un-
der 20 years of age. Most play-
ers at this age are right in their
Prime, so fans can be sure of
seeing a fast, exciting brand of
hockey being played in Zurich
during the coming winter
months.
Schedules of all the home and
away games of The Dominions
have been donated through the
courtesy of the Citizens News,
and will be available at the
main entrance of the arena for
the opening game. A program
listing the names and numbers
U.S. electron night was the
conclusion of the comedies (con-
ventions) we saw in July and
August. This chapter began at
6 p.m. and could be sub -titled
a mystery. Then it became a
drama for several hours, which
took us into the next morning
and finally around 10 a.ni. it
ended in tragedy.
Although there were comput-
er problems during the returns,
all three networks did fine re-
porting jobs.
The CBS anchor man, Walter
Cronkite, must be made of iron.
I saw him at 6:30 and he seemed
to go on and on without it be-
coming boring. During the eve-
ning, I switched to Huntley
and Brinkley on NBC, and
ABC's Howard Smith. After re-
tiring at 1:30 a.m., I checked
CBS at 3:30 and Cronkite was
of all the players will also be
available at this game.
There is nothing that would
make both players and manage-
ment happier than to see a full
house at the opening game, so
come on, all you old hockey
fans, let's see you out at the
arena on Sunday.

Another Bob Hope special
appeared last week, and this
time he mixed headlines, music
and comedy for 60 minutes,
Choice remarks during his
monologue went like this: 'Sow
about that rich Greek winning
the Irish sweepstakes?". "Who
would ever think that the Ken-
nedys would be poor relations."
Special guests were the Ap-
pollo 7 astronauts Walter Shir-
ra, Donn Bisele and Walter
Cunningham. The routine be-
tween and Rope was very well
done.
Students at a junior high
school in Willowdale watch
Perry's Probe weekdays at 2:30
on the ,CTV network. This pro-
gram is apparently included in
the school's academic program
as a basis for discussion and as
subject matter for essays.
So who needs ETV? There
are enough programs on bath
Canadian networks that could
be used in the classroom for
discussions. Take a look at
CBC and .CTV schedules if you
don't believe it.
