LOVE—DAVIS
White mums, candelabra and
ferns graced the chancel of St,
Patrick's Anglican Church,
Saintsbury, on September 21,
for the double -ring ceremony
uniting in marriage Sharon
Elizabeth Davis, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Davis, RR 1,
Lucan, and Hugh Wayne Love,
son of Mrs, Pearl Love, RR 1,
Varna.
Rev. S. J. Bell conducted the
service and Mrs! Jack Dickins,
Exeter, sang Wedding Prayer
and This Is Our Day, accompan-
ied by organist William Lam-
bourne, London.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride chose a floor -
length gown fashioned from or-
ganza in traditional style with
bodice and lily -point sleeves of
chantilly lace, the A-line skirt
was accented with the same lace
appliques. A drop petal crown
held her four-tierred French
illusion facer veil and she car-
ried a white Bible crested with
red roses, white mums and trail-
ing ivy.
Miss Sandra Abbott, cousin of
the bride, was maid of honor,
gowned in a marina blue sheath
gown styled with an empire
waistline edged in guipure lace.
A detachable 'Grecian train
edged with the same Iace fell
from her shoulders. A match-
ing bow headpiece with a crown
veil completed her ensemble
and she carried a cushion Of
white mums.
Bridesmaids were, Miss Anne
Hamilton, Miss Heather Davis,
cousins of the bride, and Miss
Sue Anne Diemert, Hanover.
They were gowned identically
to the maid of honor in 'capri
blue sheath dresses and acces-

gowned in a white linen tricot
dress with chiffon overskirt,
trimmed with capri blue bows
and matching blue bow head-
piece. She carried a basket of
white with blue trimmed mums.
Jammie Mugford, cousin of
-the bride, was ringbearer, carry-
ing a white satin pillow edged
with white lace.
James Love, brother of the
groom, was best man. Ushers
were Grant Jones, nephew of
the groom; Cameron Davis,
brother of the bride, and Wayne
Carroll, Centralia.
The reception followed in the
Lucan Arena. The bride's moth-
er received her guests in a tur-
quoise crepe sheath dress with
lace overcoat, matching access-
ories and a corsage of pink and
white mums. The, groom's moth-
er assisted her in a mint green
and gold brocaded dress, with
matching green and gold access-
ories and a corsage of yellow
roses and white mums.
For travelling to Niagara
Falls and Kingston the bride
changed to a beige wool crochet
coat dress with dark brown ac-
cessories and a corsage of
bronze mums. The couple will
reside at RR 1, Varna.
Pre-lupital Events
Mrs. Clarence Davis enter-
tained at a trousseau tea the
Saturday prior to the marriage.
Mrs. James Love was hostess
for a miscellaneous shower hon-
oring Sharon. Miss Sandra Ab-
bott was hostess for a kitchen
shower. The ladies of Saints -
bury Anglican Church enter-
tained to a miscellaneous show-
er in the church hall.
Mrs. Pearl Love entertained
at Mrs. Davis's following re-
hearsal. On October 5 the
choir of Carmel Presbyterian
Church, Hensall, entertained at
their organists, Mrs. Mac Dou-
gall, and presented Mr. and
Mrs, Wayne Love with a beau-
tiful set of dresser lamps.

Cotton Clowns

Our fifth meeting of the sea-
son took place at Mrs. Webb's,
on October 2.
We opened with the pledge.
Elizabeth Vermunt read the
minutes, which were seconded
by Sandra Webb. Diane Clark
gave the treasurer's report. Our
next meeting will be October 9
at Mrs. Webb's.
We discussed our ideas for
our club exhibit or demonstra-
tion at our Achievement Day.
We also discussed " fitting the
dress".
At the meeting we had the
privilege of meeting our home
economist, Miss Heard.
Mrs. Webb demonstrated how
to put in a zipper properly,
which we did ourselves after-
wards.

MR. AND MRS. JAMES A. COOK were mar-
ried Saturday in St. Boniface Church, Zurich, by
Father A. Durand. The bride is Madeline Anne,
daughter of -Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bedard, Zurich,
and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James

Home Auxiliary
The regular monthly meeting
of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the
Blue Water -Rest Horne was held
on Wednesday evening, October
2, at the Horne. The 'meeting
was opened with the singing of
"0 Canada", accocmpanied by
Yvonne Gingerich at the piano.
The residents joined the mem-
bers for the Thanksgiving pro-
gram. Yvonne favored with
several selections on the piano.
A sextette, comprising of Mrs.
Steve Gingerich, Mrs. Irvin IVIar-
tin, Mrs. Ephraim Gingerich,
Mrs. Mahlon Martin, Mrs. Har-
old Soper and Miss Mary Lou
Erb, sang a number of appro-
priate songs.
Mrs. Leo Meidinger intro-
duced the guest speaker, Sister
Eileen Marie, of the St. Boni-
face School. She gave an in-
spiring topic on Thanksgiving.
In the business it was decided
to have the annual bake sale,
tea and bazaar on Saturday,
November 23.
Pick Officers For
Huron CNIB Group
Larry Snider, of Exeter, was
named chairman of the Goder-
ich4Huron Advisory Board to
the Canadian National Institute
for the Blind at the annual
meeting held in Goderich, Sep-
tember 30. He succeeds James
Kinkead who has retired after
29 years of service on the board.
New members named to the
board include Mrs. Clayton Ed-
ward, Leonard Boyce, Earl Raw-
son, all of •Goderich; Harry Lear,
Blyth; Mrs. Frank Madill and
G. W, Tiffin, of Wingham; Eric
Luther, of Hensall, and Donald
O'Brien, of Zurich,

Umehara, supervisor of home
teaching in Ontario, stated that
home teaching is the key service
in the rehabilitation of the new•
ly blind. Instruction is given
in many types of handicraft,

and household skills are demon-
strated, Proper use of the white
cane is taught, thus giving the
blind person a greater degree
of mobility. Each of these is
a psychological aid in the trans-
fer from sight to touch.
Reports from campaign chair-
men in the several communi-
ties indicated that plans were
well under way for the annual
appeal for funds to be conduct-
ed in the month of October.
