riagc vows in Zurich Mennonite

Given in marriage by her
Roy Erb, the bride
wore a floor -length gown of
organza peau over taffeta, fea-
turing a French lace bodice
with matching lace appliques
on the full skirt and long
sleeves. She carried a bouquet
of white iceberg mums with
pink carnations,
Mary Lou Erb was her siste's
maid of honor and Irla Martin,
sister of the groom, and Mar-
lene Gingerich, niece of the
bride, were bridesmaids. They
were gowned alike in street

length dresses in shocking pink
lace over taffeta featuring all
lace sleeves and wore snatching
accessories. They carried bou-
quets of white mums with tint-
ed pink centres,
Groomsman was Leroy Mar-
tin, brother of the groom, of
Eureka, Illinois, and James
Steckle, cousin of the groom,
of Kitchener, and Robert Man-
son, cousin of the bride, of Zur-
ich, ushered guests.
Music was supplied by the
Lakeview Quartet of Zurich.
A wedding reception was held
in the Zurich Community Centre.
For travelling the bride
changed to a turquoise dress
with lace front and white ac-
cessories and a corsage of white
carnations.
The couple will reside at RR
2, Zurich, where the groom is
self employed as a general con-
tractor.
SOLDAN—READY
Lighted candelabra and bas-
kets of white gladioli, mums
and white .and yellow shastas
formed the setting in the Lucan
United Church, Saturday, June
29, when the Right Rev. C. J.
Queen, Bishop of St. Clair,
Windsor, uncle of the bride, and
the pastor, Rev. G. W. Sach,
officiated at a double ring cere-
mony uniting Barbara Sue
Ready and Michael Gordon
Soldan.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Beattie Rea-
dy, now of New Westminster,
B.C., and the groom is the son
of Mr, and Mrs. John H. Soldan,
Zurich.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride chose a floor -
length gown of silk organza over
taffeta, fashioned on sheath
lines with a slight A-line skirt.
The bodice of the gown had a
scoop neckline and the elbow -
length sleeves and empire waist-
line, were outlined with guipure
Lace. The cathedral train which
fell from the shoulders was also
enhanced by guipure lace trim.
A headpiece of silk organza
rosettes held her four -tier bouf-
fant veil. She carried a white
Bible adorned with red Sweet-
heart roses, stephanotis .and
white ribbon streamers with
red Sweetheart roses attached.

ing rosebud headpieces and car
ried nosegays of yellow shasta
and white feathered carnations

companied the soloist, Burto
Ready, St. Marys, who sang Th
Lord's Prayer and The Weddin
Hymn.
At a reception held at th
Lucan Shillelagh Motor Motel
the bride's mother, gowned i
a celery silk crepe ensembl
with contrasting accessories, wa
assisted by the groom's mother
who chose a blush pink crepe
with white accessories.
For a honeymoon trip to
Northern Ontario, the bride
changed to a dusty rose match-
ing coat and dress, white acces-
sories and an ivory cymbidium
orchid with pink ribbon corsage.
The young couple will make
their home at 104 Empress Ave-
nue, Huron Park.

BRIDLE—McCLINCHEY
White gladioli and shasta
mums formed the setting on
Saturday, June 29, at 2 p.m., in
Ontario Street United Church,
Clinton, for the marriage of
Sandra Lee 1VIcClinehey and Ed-
ward Lloyd Bridle.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McClinchey,
Clinton,
Miss Lois Grasby wasorganist
and Nelson McClinchey was
soloist.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. Imported
frosted silk sonesta was used in
styling the bride's wedding
gown, featuring a batteau neck-
line, elbow -length sleeves and
an empire eut waist topping a
slim fitting formal length skirt.
A wide band of Venice lace ap-
pliques adorned the empire
waist and sleeve edges. Back
interest was centred on the
chapel length train cascading
fromthe shoulders in soft un-
pressed pleats again generously
appliqued with a wide band of
matching Venice lace. A floral
cluster held the three-tier bouf-
fant, elbow -length bridal veil.
She carried a cascade of yel-
low roses, white stephanotis and
trailing ivy.
Shirley McClinchey, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor
and wore a yellow nylon chif-
fon floor -length dress featuring
a scoop neckline, elbow -length
sleeves and back panel falling
frons a bow at the neckline,
She carried a crescent of shasta

Joan Rader, Zurich, and Jude
Sutcliffe, Parry Sound, were
bridesmaids and were dressed
identical to maid of honor.
Debbie Ball was flower girl and
wore a white satin floor -length
dress trimmed with lace and
carried a small cascade of yel-
low roses and shasta mums,
Jeffrey Ball was ringbearer,
Ted Cherette was groomsman
and Larry McClinchey and Rod
Caulfield ushered guests.
A wedding reception was held
in the church parlor. The
bride's mother chose a soft aqua
dress of French crepe and Swiss
guiprie lace with matching ac-
cessories and a corsage of yel-
low roses. The groom's mother
wore a pearl pink satin backed
linen sheath with applique trim
at the neckline and sleeves.
She wore matching accessories
and a deep pink rose corsage.
For a wedding trip to Niagara
Falls the bride changed to a
white ensemble with orange ac-
cessories and orange carnation
corsage.
The couple will reside in
Goderich.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was entertained at several
showers. Mrs. Jack McClinchey
entertained at a trousseau tea
for her daughter, who, with her
mother and the groom's mother,
Mrs. Margaret Bridle, received
guests. Miss Brenda Ball at-
tended the register.

Obituary
CATHERINE JANET PARKE
Funeral service for Catherine
Janet Parke, seven-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken-
neth Parke, RR 1, Varna, was
held at the Westlake funeral
home, Zurich, on Tuesday af-
ternoon, at 2 p:m. Catherine
passed away in Victoria Hos-
pital, London, on Sunday, July
14.
Born on April 24, 1961, she
was a student at Huron Centen-
nial School, Brucefield.
Surviving besides her parents
are one sister, Susan, at home;
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Parke, Hensall, and
Mrs. Janet Zapfe, of Byron.
Interment was made in Bay-
field Cemetery, with Rev. M.
Morrison, pastor of Goshen
United Church, officiating. Pall-
bearers were Bob McKinley,
John Robinson, Claire McBride
and Tom Consitt.

Obituary
BROTHER FRANCIS FOSTER
A native of this area, Brother
Francis Foster, passed away in
St. Marys Hospital, Kitchener,
on Sunday, July 14, in his 49th
year. He had been living in
Edmonton, Alberta, prior to be-
ing a patient in the hospital.
Born in Stanley Township on
April 26, 1920, he was a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Lang Foster, Zur-
ich. He was a teacher in
O'Leary Higli School, and mem-
ber of the Brothers of the Chris-
tian Schools, founded by St.
Jean Baptist De LaSalle.
Surviving besides his parents
are one brother, Leonard, of
Kitchener; four sisters, Sister
Philothea, Detroit; Mrs. Rita
Givlin, Wellesely; Mrs. Donald
(Anna) McCullamore, Michigan;
Mrs. Fred (Mary) Hurley.
Mass was held in De LaSalle
College, Toronto, on Tuesday
morning, then the remains were
brought to the Westlake funeral
home, Zurich where prayers
were held on Tuesday evening.
Funeral mass took place in St.
Boniface Church, Zurich, on
Wednesday morning at 10:30
a.m., with interment in St. Boni-
face Cemetery.
