Slate of Officers
Lions Club of Bayfield held
their last dinner meeting of the
season at the Little Inn last
Tuesday with 23 members pres-
ent. Lion president George
Mayor conducted the meeting.
New officers for the year
were installed by Lion Bill
Lumby, of the Goderich Lions
Club,. Officers elected for the
coming year: Harry Baker, presi-
dent; Harold West, first vice-
president; Joe 1VMayman, third
vice-president; Jack Merner,
Bev McClinchey, one year di-
rectors; Ernie Hovey, Frank
McFadden, two year directors;
Charles Scotchmer, secretary;
Les Elliott, treasurer; Ernie
Hovey and Grant Sterling, song
leaders; Ellwood Mitchell, tail
twister; Bev McClinchey, Lion
tamer.
Lion Bill Lumby, from Goder-
ich Lions Club, was also guest
speaker for the evening. Lion
George Mayor, on relinquishing
the office of president thanked
the members for their splendid
cooperation throughout the year.
Plans were made for the annual
Bayfield Lions Frolic which will
be held on July 26.

visited with Mrs. Sweeney's
grandmother, Mrs. Flood, who
is 87 years old. Recent visitors

lia, Alberta and southwestern

Union services will continue
at Hensel], United Church at 11
a.m. until the end of July.
Soloist at the morning service
last Sunday was Mrs. William
Fuss who sang "Hold Thou My
Hand". Rev. H. F. Currie gave
the message.
Mr. and Mrs. Hillier, of Lon-
don, were guests Sunday eve-
ning with Mr. and Mrs. Laird
Mickle.
Misses Amy and Greta Lam-
mie attended the Hunter re-
union at Centralia on Sunday,
July 7.
Grant McClinchey, 31, who
received neck injuries in a car
accident over the week -end and
is hospitalized in Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital, 1s doing as
well as can be expected.
Plan Program For
Local Bible School
The Zurich Summer Bible
School will conclude with a pro-
gram on Friday evening at 8
p.m., at the local Mennonite
Church.
Parents and friends are in-
vited to the closing exercises.
There will be a display of work
books and hand work in the
basement, which can be seen
before the program.
