E. "Bob" McKinley to carry the Tory colors into the election fray. Among them were many persons from this area who made the trip to support the popular chicken farmer from RR 1, Zurich. (Citizens News Photo) ti °ich Opens Baseball Schedule `ix ith Home Game Friday Against He11 The complete schedule of the Huron -Perth baseball league was drawn up at a meeting in Hen- sall. Tuesday night under the direction of league president Bob Sadler, of Staffa, and sec- retary John Livermore. of Clin- ton. The league will be composed of six teams: Dashwood. Zurich, Mitchell, St. Marys, Hensall and Thorndale. The two latter teams in recent years in the popular will be making their first start baseball loop. Plans to enter a team from Exeter were aban- doned. Following is the schedule with all week -day games start- ing at 6:30 and all Saturday or Sunday games at 2:30 unless otherwise noted. Group in Zurich (By Gerry Rader) Last Thursday night a sched- ule of the newly -formed Zurich Rec league softball was drawn up at a meeting held at the Zurich Arena. We had 'decided on having a league composed of four teams: the Barber Boys, Gingerich's, the Contractors, and •a teenage team. All four teams will be play- ing every Wednesday night, commencing at 6;30 p.m. There will be two •diamonds used— the grounds at the Park and the diamond at the Separate School. We are looking for volunteer umpires, so anyone who would like to umpire con- tact Bob Merner or myself. McKinley concluded his re- marks by speaking out for the agriculture communities in Hur- on, claiming that they are being badly neglected by the present Liberal government. He said the Liberal plan is to squeeze the small farmer off the farm, and this would affect the small businessman in the towns and villages in rural areas. A new slate of officers for the Huron PC Association was also elected at the meeting.
