In 1927 Albert Spen- cer and his son, Walter, moved to Hensall from Exeter and opened up the lumber yard which had been closed for some time. In 1933 the business was taken over by Walter Spencer and since that time has served the public .in this area. In 1952 the mill proper was completely destroyed by fire and rebuilt later that same year. Mr. Spencer says that many happy years have been the re- sult of doing business with the customers and carpenters, and working with loyal employees. During the past 41 years they have been especially indebted to two employees—John Far- quhar who was a steady em- ployee, followed by Aldon Van - stone (Roily) who has been with the business for the past 24 years. 0 VARNA The Explorer group of the United Church, under direction of their leader, Mrs. Bev.
