Hometown fans agree that young Jeffery was a real asset to the Zurich crew who eas- ily won the contest last Friday. Here, No. 7 for Ripley tips the puck into the mesh to score while Zurich team cap- tain Paul Corriveau watches from the corner of the goal. (Citizens News Photo) A RHUBARB FOR THE REFEREES — The referees at last Friday evening's hockey game be- tween Zurich Juveniles and the Ripley team had some special duties to perforin when a pair of players attempted to settle their argument with fists. In the top photo we see Brian Decker (No. 7 in the white) pulling off his gloves for an en- counter with the unidentified Ripley player, who is also preparing for the onslaught. In the bottom shot we take a look at the outcome --a tangled mess of men and skates which is patiently being unwound by the two referees—Doug O'Brien from Zurich at the top and the Ripley ref, whose name is not known. Just what the real beef was between the players may never be known, but the action pro- vided some unexpected thrills for the crowd on hand to watch the game which Zurich won, SENIOR MIXED LEAGUE February 22 Wkeyes, C.
