ONE OF THE VERY FEW This
shot shows one of Ripley's goals
scored against the hard -to -beat Zurich
netminder, Rick Jeffery. Hometown
fans agree that young Jeffery was a
real asset to the Zurich crew who eas-
ily won the contest last Friday. Here,
No. 7 for Ripley tips the puck into the
mesh to score while Zurich team cap-
tain Paul Corriveau watches from the
corner of the goal.

A RHUBARB FOR THE REFEREES — The
referees at last Friday evening's hockey game be-
tween Zurich Juveniles and the Ripley team had
some special duties to perforin when a pair of
players attempted to settle their argument with
fists. In the top photo we see Brian Decker (No.
7 in the white) pulling off his gloves for an en-
counter with the unidentified Ripley player, who
is also preparing for the onslaught. In the bottom
shot we take a look at the outcome --a tangled mess
of men and skates which is patiently being unwound
by the two referees—Doug O'Brien from Zurich
at the top and the Ripley ref, whose name is not
known. Just what the real beef was between the
players may never be known, but the action pro-
vided some unexpected thrills for the crowd on hand
to watch the game which Zurich won,

been playing the series to date
without defensive stalwart Dick
Bedard, and they have missed
his services. Dick hopes to be
back in action for the big game
Friday night . , . Ken Westlake
missed the Sunday afternoon
game in Milverton, due to ill-
ness. To fill the gap, manager -
coach Bill Wagner dressed him-
self and played an outstanding
game for the locals ... Enthus-
iasm for intermediate hockey
has been growing as the series
progresses, and each game sees
a bigger crowd on hand to
cheer the locals on . , , A bus-
load of fans from the St. Cle-
ments area accompanied their
team to Zurich on Tuesday
night, and before the night was
over several fights broke out
between supporters of the two
teams .. . The locals are ask-
ing for as much fan support as
possible at the Friday night
game in Milverton, and anyone
who can possibly make the trip
should do so.
