and Chiselhurst United, and St.
Paul's Anglican churches will
join in the service. Guest speak-
er is Mrs. H. F. Currie, Hensall.

The regular meeting of Am-
ber Rebekah Lodge was (held
Wednesday evening, February
21. Following a .short. business
meeting chaired by noble grand
Mrs. John Corbett, a card party
to honor the 19th birthday of
the Lodge was held with 11
tables in play, and the winners
of progressive euchre were:
ladies, Mrs. Blighton Ferg; Mrs.
Dave Kyle; men, Ed Munn, R.
A. Orr; lone hands, Mrs. Edna
Caldwell.
A gift was presented to Mrs.
Nancy Kyle, oldest member of
the Lodge, who 'celebrated a
birthday that week. Three
draws were held: box of grocer-
ies, Mrs. Harry Caldwell; box
of home-made fudge, Mrs. Ruth
Taylor, Brucefield; box of choc-
olets, Howard Lemmon, Varna.
Lunch was served including
a birthday cake whioh Mrs.
Nancy Kyle had the honor of
cutting. Fifty attended the
party.

On February 20 a very special
guest attended Hensel]. Guides.
She was Miss McMillen, the di-
vision commissioner. In the
formation of a horseshoe, the
girls and their guest sang and
discussed Guide work.
On February 25 the Guides
attended a "Thinking Day
Chureh Service" at Hensall
United Church. Anne Knight
read the scripture for the
Guides and Kathy Cook and
Patrician Van Wieren positioned
the flags.

Henry Fink
Funeral service for the late
Henry Fink, 79, of 1229 York
Street, London, who passed
away in St. Joseph's Hospital,
was held Friday from the
George E. Logan & Sons funeral
home, London, with interment
in Forest Lawn Memorial Gar-
dens.
Surviving are his wfe, the
former Mary Litt; one daughter,
Mrs, Harvey (Arnetta) Hillgart-
ner, London; sons, Edward,
Hensall; Reuben, Toronto, El-
don, London; sister, Miss Annie,
New Dundee.
Paul Dodds, of Seaforth, is
visiting with his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs, Sim Roobol.
Visiting their mother, Mrs.
Violet Schwalm, in South Huron
Hospital and also their broth-
er, Ray SeliwaIm, over the
week -end were Mr. and Mrs.
Austin Schwalm, Mr. and Mrs.

Obituary
NORMAN W. LONG
Norman W. Long, highly es-
teemed resident of Xippen,
passed away Saturday, February
24, in Stratford General Hos-
pital. He was in his 84th year.
Mr. Long had been in failing
health for the past five years,
having been active up until that
time. Prior to his death he
had been a patient in Seaforth
Community Hospital, and Strat-
ford General Hospital.
He served as mail carrier on
RR 2, Kippen, for 27 years until
his retirement a few years ago.
He was .a former member of
the Masonic Lodge at Owen
Sound, a member of St. An-
drew's United Church, Kippen,
and a resident of Kippen for
over 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Hazel Rowntree; two
daughters, Mrs. Edward (Jean)
Little, Hensall, and Mrs. Mar-
guerite 'Inch, Windsor; one son,
Arthur, St. Catharines, and two
grandchildren, Marcia and
Cheryl Little, Hensall.
Public funeral service was
largely attended at the Bon-
thron funeral home, Hensall, on
Tuesday, February 27, conduct-
ed by Rev. E. D. Stuart, who
paid fitting tribute to the life
of the deceased. Burial was in
Exeter cemetery.

Thomas Lavender (centre) was a good
friend of Zurich Guides and their
leaders when the movement began
here in 1953. Mrs. Hubert Schilbe
(left) who made the presentation of
a gift to Mrs. Lavender was one of
Zurich's first Guide leaders. Look-
ing on is Miss Mary McMillan, area
Guide commissioner, from Goderich,
Mrs. Lavender, now retired from ac-
tive Guide work, spent 20 years pro-
moting Guide organizations in this
part of the province.
