JOSEPH and DRYSDALE Alfred Ducharme, Correspondent On Sunday last visitors at the home of Mrs. Josephine Du- charme and son Isidore were from. London, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gelinas, and from Sarnia Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Koreu. Mrs. Adeline Denomme, who is in residence with Mrs. Du- eharme, left on Saturday for a three-week v a .c a t i o n visiting with her children in London, Goderich and other parts. Mr. and Mrs. Isidore Corri- veau and daughter Kimberley were week -end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph ''Corriveau and family, on this highway. At time of writing we are having nice fall weather, and all of that will help to shorten the winter months. P.S.—A very Merry and Joy- ous Christmas to all on this Wednesday morning, and we wondering if it could be near- ing the tail end of our passing Indian summer. Surprise Visit On Monday . morning, shortly after dawn, a knock came to the door of our house, and be- ing a cloudy morning one had to take the second look to make sure who was there. TITe Du- charmes were surprised when opening the door to see the two gals waiting a welcome to come in. After taking the second look at the two ladies in ques• tion it was noticeable they were not garbed as visitors—they had the necessary needs to put on a finishing touch to the Du- charme house. Shortly after their arrival they began to move things around and start their work. At times the two giggled as much as to say, "we have the run of the house today", Yours truly at one time asked to enter the front room to listen to the news of the day, and was told, "if your shoes and nose are clean". That hurt •at the time but since we are nearing the Yuletide season it was forgot- ten. By the way, those two gals in question were Mrs, Theresa Hartman, •of Zurich, a daughter, and Mrs. Avila Du- charme, of this ;highway, a daughter-in-law . The elder Du- charmes appreciated the sur- prise visit and expect them to call again. P.S.—Our story on our first voyage away from home will be continued in the next issue of the Citizens News after Christ- mas. Have a happy holiday season, everyone. The .huge piece of wood was hauled into the house and placed on the fireplace. Then the party be- gan, with every man, woman and child in the room doffing his hat as he passed, knowing full well that the log was full of good promises and that its flame would burn out old wrongs. After this as part of their feast, hostesses served Yule dough, or Yule cakes, on which were impressed the figure of the infant Jesus. aajmnissoffitansummenstell OPENING SALE Seaforth Auction Centre situated in the OLD CREAMERY at the CNR tracks on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22 at 8 p.m. Consisting of household furn- iture and appliances: television set; electric clothes dryer; re- frigerator; kitchen set; antique desk and cabinet; bedroom suites; living -room suite; china cabinets; two Singer sewing ma- chines; record player; vacuum cleaner, and many other articles.
