RADER, Correspondent) Ladies' Aid The annual and Christmas meeting of Zion Luthern Church Ladies' Aid was held Wednes- day, December 13, with group four and Mrs, Addison Tiernan convenor in charge. Reports were heard from all committees, secretaries and the treasurer, showing a very busy and profitable year, Mrs. Edgar Restemayer re- ported the new altar cloths would be ready for Christmas. The shut-in boxes are to be packed Sunday, December 17. Christmas gifts are to be given to Vicar Arthur Rader, the church mission fund and the Lutheran Hour. Mrs. Leonard Schenk, presi- dent, called on Mrs. Milford Merner to give the report of the nominating committee and conduct election •of officers. Results: past president, Mrs, Leonard Schenk; president, Mrs. Lorne Genttner; vice-president, Mrs. James Hayter; secretary, Mrs. Marie Restemayer; treas- urer, Mrs. Ken Keller; card secretary, Mrs. Martha Miller; flower and treat fund secretary, Mrs, Albert Miller; pianists, Mrs. Albert Rader; assistant, Miss Helen Nadiger; librarians, Mrs. Reinhold Miller and Mrs, William Haugh; auditors, Mrs. John Rader and Mrs. Cliff Salmon. The Christmas program con- sisted of piano duets and solos by Joanne and Janice Hayter for group one; reading by Mrs. Ken Keller for group two; pan- tomine by Darlene and Sharon Rader rfor group three; Christ- mas carols; closing devotions, and a Christmas lunch by group four. The pastor, Rev. E. E. Stein- man, accepted a Christmas gift for his family from the ladies. Personals Mrs, Martha Miller returned home after spending two weeks at Port Dover with Mr. and Mrs. Siegfried Miller and family. Addison Tiernan is confined to South Huron Hospital with a fractured hip. Mrs. Idella Fisher •has re- turned home from South Huron Hospital, Exeter. Santa arrived in Dashwood in all his glory Saturday after- noon, with treats for all the children and free 'movies. Christmas Program The Evangelical UB Church held their Christmas program Sunday evening. The first part was by the kindergarten, prim- ary and junior Sunday school children, This consisted of recitations and solos. Bill Elliott — Centralia Zurich institute Hears Report Of Orphan Children The Christmas program of Zurich Women's Institute was held at the Township Hall with 17 members and 13 visitors present. •Mrs. Harold Thiel wel- comed the 4-H girls and their leaders. Guest speaker Lance Reed spoke about Christmas dreams for a little boy. He told of how we can be happy by taking e little gift to someone who has "no one". He reminded us especially of children in or- phanage who have no homes and no family life. Various Christmas carols were sung. The 4-H girls, "The Pil- low Talkers", presented their skit and displayed their "bed- room accessories," which they were taught to make by their leaders, Miss Dianne Peck and Mrs. Donna O'Brien. Roll call was answered with a favorite Christmas carol. Re- ports were that a stove was purchased for the hall and luneh was served for the bean board meeting. "Baking with Yeast" short course is planned for January 11, 1968.
