Following is a story appear- ing in a Toronto area news- paper regarding the candidacy of Mr. Koehler: "Armourdale New Democrats promise to make this campaign an interesting one. "Their candidate, Har o 1 d Koehler, has already canvassed 5,000 homes before the election was called. The first leaflet had been ready for months and thousands of signs were printed and waiting. Within hours of the election call a com- mittee room was rented and over 90 veteran workers were in action canvassing and doing the various jobs that an elec- tion campaign involves. "Koehler, a 42 -year-old nu- clear physicist, is chief test en- giner, Orenda Ltd., internation- al consultant to governments and industry. SINISINVISSUREmmilillEMMEMIllimminen A HISTORY OF TELEPHONE — One of the most interesting floats entered in the parade at the Zurich Fall Fair last week was the display of tele- phones by the Hay Municipal System. The display was made up of telephones from the early days through to the present styles, and also showed an old-fashioned switchboard. At the rear of the float, posing as telephone operators are Susan Oesch and Dorothy Wagner, while Linda Stade, in centennial costume, portrays the role of an operator in the early 1900s. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Genttner spent the week -end at WaIker- ton with Mr. and Mrs. Don Genttner. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schenk and family spent Sunday at Walkerton with Mr, M. W. Schenk and with Mrs. Schenk, who is a patient in Walkedton hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Boyle and family spent Sunday with Mr. in public service has included national chairmanship of the African Students Foundation executive member of North York Planning Council, board member of his church and in- volvement in professional and employee associations. "Harold and his wife Dorothy reside at 261 Yonge Boulevard in Armourdale riding, with their son Norman, daughter Susan, and their oldest daughter Mar- lene. who has just returned from a year of study at the University of Ghana." and Mrs. William Grey, of Mt. Clemens. A number from Dashwood WI attended the fall rally at Crediton on Monday. Mr. Glen Haugh, of Solana Beach, California, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Haugh, recently Mr. and Mrs. James Hayter were visitors at Expo 67 last week. Mr and Mrs. Gerald Wolfe, Vernon and Evelyn and Mrs. George Filsinger, of Clifford, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ooestreicher and family. Mrs. Louis Wolfe, who spent the week her, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ford and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ford, of Bolton, were Expo visitors. Mrs. Fred Miller, Brenda and Charlotte, of Zion, spent Tues day with Mrs. Irvin Rader. Victor Tyler Victor Tyler, 61, passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exe ter, Wednesday, September 27 He had been in failing health for some time. The funeral was held from the T. Harry Hoffman funeral home Saturday, with Rev. E. E. Steinman in targe, Burial was made in Dashwood Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Emil and Alex Baker, Fred Keller, Larry Baynham, Bernie Nauss and Elmer Desch. Men's Club The Dashwood Men's Club 1 held their organizational meet- ing for the .coming season with the following officers elected: president, Jack Gaiser; vice- presidents, Joe Dietrich, Hubert Miller, Ralph Weber; secretary, Harry Hayter; attendance com- mittee, chairman Lorne Becker, Ron Merner, Harold Finkbeiner; finance committee, chairman, Paul Watson, Victor Hartman, Emil Becker; program commit- tee, chairman, Ken Baker, Ervin Devine, Alvin Walper, Charles Martene, Donald Bender.
