The Slumber Queens The first meeting of the Dash- wood 4-H girls' club was held at the Dashwood Community Centre September 13, with 12 girls present and the leaders, Mrs. Eben Weigand and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe. Election of officers followed the opening 4-H pledge: presi- dent, Cora Van Raay; vice-presi- dent, Norma Weigand; secre- tary, Doris Webb. The girls decided on the name, "The Slumber Queens". The meet- ing closed with "The Queen". 0 Obituary MRS. IVAN W. YUNGBLUT A highly respected resident of Zurich for most of her life, Mrs. Ivan W. Yungblut passed away in South Huron Hospital, on Thursday, September 21, 1967, in her 57th year. She had been in failing health for some time. Born in Hay Township on February 4, 1911, she was the former Margaret Martha Schil- be, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schilbe. Surviving besides her hus- band is one daughter, Marion, Mrs. Graham Farquhar, of Ma- dison, Wisconsin; one son, Wil- liam, of London; one sister, Roselle, Mrs. George Grunan, of Detroit; and one brother, Irvin Schilbe, of London. Another brother, Milfred Schilbe, pre- deceased her a few years ago. There are also three grand- children. The body rested at the West- lake funeral home, Zurich, where the funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. C. Blackwell. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Ceme- tery, Goshen Line. Pallbearers were J. W. Pastel shades of glads formed the setting for the double ring ceremony per- formed by Rev. Donald Fitch- ett, of St. Thomas. The bride is the slaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon T. West- lake. Bayfield, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Snell, of RR 3, Blyth. Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride was attired in a princess styled floor -length gown of silk organza over taf- feta featuring a full cathedral train of lace. Her fine illusion veil was ornamented with tiny sequins and was held by a tiny tiara. She carried a white Bible crested with a White orchid and white streamers. Mrs. Rosalie Busch, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Cathy George, St. Thomas, and Miss Barbara Westlake, sister of the bride. They were gowned alike in street length dresses of shocking pink peau de sole over taffeta with lace train at back to hemline and featuring lace bell sleeves. They had matching accessories and car- ried baskets of red and white carnations and white baby mums. Groomsman was Marvin Snell, brother of the groom. Ronald Westlake, brother of the bride, and John McDowell ushered guests. Soloist, Miss Elaine Westlake, Zurich, cousin of the bride, sang "Each for the Other" and "Oh Perfect Love" and was ac- companied by Louise Talbot at the organ. A reception was held on the lawn at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's mother chose a peacock blue chevrette dress with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses, and the groom's mother wore a green crepe sheath dress with crystal trim and beige and brown ac- cessories and corsage of yellow roses. For a wedding trip to the western provinces the bride changed to a coral wool dress with black accessories and a white orchid corsage. The couple will reside at RR 3, Blyth. Pre -nuptial showers were held at the home of Eva Man- chester, St. Thomas; Mrs. Eliza- beth Grainger, RR 2, Zurich, and Mrs. Margaret Westlake, Zurich. 0 Robert Hartman, of St. Cath- arines; Miss Joanne Denomme, London; Mrs. Theresa Hartman, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hart- man attended the Ducharme- Whynott wedding in Windsor last Saturday. You Are Welcome Studio, Goclexich) 5 55 Children's Aid Discuss Program Mrs. Douglas Bartliff, a mem- ber of the board of directors of the Children's Aid Society of Huron County, was hostess for a meeting of the board and staff in her home in Clinton on September 20, to set up a sys- tem of organized volunteers who will co-operate with the board and staff to broaden the scope of the Children's Aid So- ciety's work, Peter Collis, a provincial su- pervisor from the child welfare branch, was present and con- tributed to the discussion with 16 members who attended. Miss Clare McGowan, local director, opened the meeting. Mrs. Ewan Ross, supervisor of protection services, outlined a suggested plan for volunteer transportation services. A ten- tative system `was drawn up and is to be presented to the October meeting of the board. Pillow Talkers Discuss Co1ours The Zurich IV Pillow Talkers held their first and second 4 -If meetings at the home of Mrs, Don O'Brien. The meet- ing was opened with the 4-I1 pledge, and during business Joan Finkbeiner vas picked as president..
