Mr. and Mrs. Noel McLaren
(Martha Gossman), newly weds,
visited Expo '67 and •the latter's
parents, Mr, and 1Virs, William
Gassman, and friends, prior to
returning to Edmonton, Alber-
ta where they will reside,
Mrs. Fredericka Eveland
Mrs. Fredericka Eveland, 85,
widow of William Eveland,
passed away at Clinton hospital,
Thursday, June 29. Formerly
of Dashwood, she resided at
Huronview.
Surviving are three daughters,
Mrs. Glen (Arnetta) Baker, of
London; Mrs. George (Ella)
Schmidt, of Baden; Mrs. Leo
(Frances) Gibson, of Dashwood;
three sons, William, of Water

Rio; Leo, of Dashwood; Norman,
of London; also 18 grandchil-
dren and 16 great-grandchildren,
The funeral was held from
the T. Harry Hoffman funeral
home, on Sunday, July 2, with
Rev. Earl Steinman officiating.
Interment was made in Dash-
wood Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers were seven grand-
sons, Glen, Dale, Darry, Brian
Baker, Brian Schmidt, Larry
Eveland and Wayne Gibson,

Old Time Costume
Las t Wednesday, June 28,
was Centennial Day at $t. Boni-
face School, Zurich. A large
number of the old-time cos-
tumes, some of which are prob-
ably 100 years old.
During the festivities, the
Citizens News photographer
managed to gather 11 different
groups of the children together
to pose for a picture. This
week we are printing eight of
these photos, and the other
three will appear in nextweek's
issue.

Dashwood and
Zurich Teams Split
Two Game Series
The Zurich Kings and the
Dashwood Tigers split a pair of
week -end hall games, with each
team winning on the other's
home diamond. Last Saturday,
as •part of the Zurich Centen-
nial program, Dashwood came
out on top of a 7-5 score, and
then back in Dashwood on Mon-
day night the Kings were vic-
torious by a 5-4 score.
On Saturday Dashwood scored
once •in the second inning, add-
ed three more in the fourth,
one in the fifth and two more
in the sixth, as they were ahead
all the way.
Zurich scored two runs in the
fifth and added three more in
the sixth,
Dashwood out -hit the Zurich
crew, 12 to six. Top men with
the willow for the' TigerS were
Bill Schade and Dave Ratz, with
'three each, while Ken Rader
hit safely twice, The ether its

Don O'Brien with two safeties
each, were top men. Single
blows were delivered by Phil
Overholt and Dick Bedard.
Dave Ratz worked on the
Mound for Dashwood, while
Dick Bedard hurled for the
Kings,

On Monday night Zurich
scored twice in the •opening
frame, once in the third and
then came up with two more
big •markers in the sixth. Dash-
wood scored two runs in both
the fifth and sixth innings.
Both teams managed only
four safeties in the six -inning
contest, with Don O'Brien lead-
ing the Zurich assault with a
double and a single. George
}Iaggitt also doubled in the
sixth, and the other safety came
off the bat of Dick Bedard, also
in the big sixth inning rally.

Jim Pfaff started on the hill
for Zurich, but ad to give way
to Don O'Brien in the fifth
when his sore arm started to
