Mr. and Mrs. Jake Haberer
spent the past week -end in To-
ronto at the home of their son
and daughter-in-law, Dr. and
Mrs. John Haberer; also attend-
ing the beekeepers' convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Papp and
family, Detroit, were week -end
visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Pete
Deitz,
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Tiernan
and family, Exeter, and Mr. and
Mrs. John Teevins and family,
Grand Bend, were Sunday vis-
itors with Mr. and Mrs. Hubert
Schilbe.
Mrs. Lerina Rose and Mrs.
Ann Oesch have left for Toron-
to for a few days. Then Mrs.
Oesch's sisters, Margaret Harris
and Dorothy Bland and niece
Margaret Jordon will accom-
pany them to Expo '67.

imaginative the costumes were at
Zurich Public School last Friday. Here

peared at classes.
Centennial Theme
For Meeting Of
E U B Women
The monthly meeting of the
WSWS of the Evangelical UB
Church took the form of a Cen-
tennial picnic, held at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Greb,
the afternoon of June 7.
Many of the ladies arrived in
Centennial dress, some authen-
tic, bringing with them an an-
tique which they displayed. On
display, too, was a Centennial
quilt made by a groop of the
ladies.
The theme of the meeting
was "Famous Canadian Wom-
en". Topics were prepared by
Mrs. Norma Siebert and Mrs.
Wes Merner. Mrs. Siebert
spoke on Miss Emily Carr, fam-
ous painter whose paintings
only received recognition after
her death. In the absence of
Mrs. Merner, Mrs. Beatrice
Geiger read the article on Dr.
Stowe, the first Canadian wom-
an doctor.
Tributes were paid to moth-
ers, the greatest of all women.
Throughout the afternoon old
time songs were sung with Mrs.
Milton Oesch at the parlor or-
gan. Mrs. Steckle very ably
gave acondensed version of a
Father's Day

Mrs. Greb took charge of the
business. Three items of busi-
ness were presented. There
will be a joint meeting with
Crediton and Dashwood at
Crediton, July 18.
A request was made from the
conference executive of WSWS
that the fall rally be .held at
Zurich. The RUB visiting day
at Blue Water Rest Home is the
first Tuesday of each month.
A picnic lunch, enjoyed by
all, was served on the spacious
lawn.

Obituary
LILLIE MAY BRISTOW
Mrs. Lillie May Rohner, RR
3, Bayfield, passed away on Sat-
urday, June 10, in Clinton Pub-
lic Hospital. She was 88 years
old.
Formerly Lillie May Bristow
she was the widow of Samuel
Hohner. She is survived by two
sons, Harvey, of Zurich, and
Clarence, of Exeter, and one
daughter, Miss Annie Maria, RR
3, Bayfield.
Funeral was from the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich, on
Monday, June 12. Interment
was in Bayfield cemetery.
