Robert E. Mickle, son of Mr.
and Mrs. E. Laird Mickle, Hen-
sall, received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Honors
Physics and Mathematics at ithe
UWO convocation, Wednesday.
He graduated with first-class
honors and was on the Dean's
Honor Roll for the third time.
He also received the Raymond
Compton Dearle gold medal for
the highest standing in his grad-
uating class. He will take post
graduate training at the Uni-
versity of Western Ontario lead-
ing to his master's degree in
tropospheric prysics.
Graduated in London
Dennis R. Mock, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ronald Mock, Hensall,
graduated with first-class hon-
ors in honors geography from
the University of Western On-
tario. He was on the Dean's
Honor Roll again and received
the Thomas B. Richardscn gold
medal for the highest standing
in geography. He has received
a teaching fellowship from the
University of Toronto where he
will study for his master's de-
gree in industrial location.

Grant McClinchey attended the
bowling tournament at Strath-
roy, Wednesday, May 24. Sev-
eral were winners in the penny
sale, bingo and door prizes.
Mrs. Ross MacMillan, Water-
loo, visited on Sunday with her
parents, Mr, and Mrs. Laird
Mickle. Miss Ann Mickle re-
turned with her sister to spend
a few days with the family.

Goshen Church
Exeter Chapter, Order of the
Eastern Star, held• its annual
church service in Goshen Unit-
ed Church on Sunday, May 28,
with Rev. Murdoch Morrison in
charge. The choir rendered
two special ntrtnbers for the
occasion.
A quartet was comprised of
Mrs. Robert Peck, Mrs. Anson
McKinley, Richard Robinson
and Roy McBride.
A good crowd attended the
service and refreshments were
served in the church basement
at the close of the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle
and Ann attended the awards
ceremony at the Natural Scl-
ences Amphitheatre, UWO, Lon-
don, Wednesday morning, when
Robert received his gold medal,
They also attended the lunch-
eon at noon for the graduaion
students in science and their
guests.
National Veterans' Week
National Veterans' Week,
June 11 'to 17, is being spon-
sored as part of Canada's Cen-
tennial celebrations by the gov-
ernment of Canada, through
the department of veterans' af-
fairs, and veterans associations,

nadian Legion will hold a mem-
orial parade on Sunday, June
11, at 10:30 a.m., followed by
a service at the United Church
at 11 o'clock. Legion and Aux-
iliary members of all local or-
ganizations are invited to at-
tend this parade,
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mickle,
Charles Mickle, Hamilton, and
Miss Ann Mickle attended the
convocation in the Alumni Hall,
UWO, Wednesday afternoon.
Later Mr, and Mrs. William
Mickle, Mrs. Florence Joynt,
and Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacMil-
lan, Waterloo, joined them for
a family dinner in Bob's honor

the Hay Township Hall, Zurich,
on May 29, with leaders Don
Weigand and Don Geiger in
charge.
The summer assistant for the

weed control in beans,
