Canadian industries high-
lighted the topic at the April
meeting of the Zurich Women's
Institute. Mrs. H. Beierling
opened the meeting with the
Institute Ode, the Mary Stewart
Collect, and the Lord's Prayer,
after which she gave a reading
"on fishing" in Canada.
Peggy Uphoff gave two love-
ly selection's on the chord organ.
Eight girls dressed in Centen-
nial costumes presented a skit,
"Aunt Dinah's quilting party".
Mrs, J. W. Merner intro-
duced the speaker, Mrs. How-

All networks now possess
what is called a "comparative
network schedule". This sched-
ule shows what programs are
opposing each other next sea-
son, and while networks state
they do not anticipate .changes,
meetings are held and shifts
will likely be made. It's like a
game of chess.
Let's take a look at the night-
time schedules of the three
American and two Canadian
networks for a typical Sunday:
At 7:00 p.m. CTV will run "The
Monkees" against a new show
on the CBC entitled "Gentle
Ben".
At 7:30 it's "Voyage to 'the
Bottom of the Sea" on ABC;
"Gentle Ben" on CBS; "Walt
Disney" on NBC; "The FBI" on
CTV and "FIashback" on 'CBC.
At 8:00 it's the second half
of "Voyage" on ABC; "Ed Sul-
livan" on CBS and CBC. NBC
and CTV are finishing the 60 -
minute shows they started at
7:30.
At 8:30 NBC will run "Moth-
er -in -Law", and CTV will go
with "I Dream of Jeannie".
At 9 o'clock ABC will run a
movie; CBS and 'CTV will run
"The Smothers Brothers"; NBC
and CBC will run "Bonanza".
At 10:00 the movie will still
be running on ABC, while CBS
will run "Mission: Impossible";
NBC will play, "High Chapar-
ral"; CTV will return with
"W5", and CBC will go with a
public affairs program. In fu-
ture columns we'll look at the
other six days of TV programs.
