Hay Council Has
Drain Problems
Hay Township council and
Clerk W h it n e y Brokenshire
have spent long hours on drain-
age discussion !and decision and
indications are that more work
is forthcoming.
At Monday's council session,
linal work on the Cann -Mitchell
drain was reported completed
and payment was ordered.
A petition was received from
Hector Forcier, Gerard Du-
charme, Clarence Sohade and
Harold Horner for drainage
work in their area. Engineer
C. P. Corbett hasbeen asked
to bring in a report on the sit-
uation there.
Other petitions for drainage
work were received from Or-
ville Taylor, Ben Tinney and
Percy !Campbell, and from Win-
ston Shapton and Grant Trieb-
ner. C. P. Corbett was instruct-
ed to bring reports to council
regarding this work as well.
Repairs to the lower end of
the recently constructed Koeh-
ler drain were advised by coun-
cil with 'C. P. Corbett in charge.
Last month, three municipal
drains were approved and by-
laws passed endorsing their
construction following the court
of revision •on April 24.
Cook Bros., RR 4, Stratford,
submitted the only tenders for
work on the Eacrett Drain and
Jacobs Drain. The firm was
awarded both contracts in the
amount of $6742 and $1415, re-
spectively. Cement tile for the
two jobs was , ordered from
Brantford Builders' Supply.
Council did comply with a re-
quest from Lionel Wilder, Keith
Love and Howard Atkins that

Obituary
MRS. A. G. EDIGHOFFER
Mrs. Arthur Grant Edighoffer,
Zurich, the former Dora Edna
Eilber, passed away at South
Huron Hospital in Exeter en
Tuesday, May 2. She was in
her 81st year.
Survivors include her hus-
band; one son, Grant, of Zur-
ich, and one sister, Mrs. Roxie
Frank, Waterloo.
Funeral service is from the
Westlake funeral home on Fri-
day, May 5, with interment in
the Evangelical United Breth-
ren Cemetery.
MRS. JOHN A. MANSON
A highly respected resident
of this community for many
years, Mrs. John A. Manson
passed away in 'Clinton Public
Hospital, on Friday, April 28,
1967. She was in her 85th year.
The former Mary Kennel, a
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Nicholas Kennel, she was
born in Wilmot Township, and
spent her married life in Stan-
ley Township.
Mrs. Manson was an active
member of the Zurich Women's
Institute for many years, and
attended meetings as often as
possible. She was also a mem-
ber of the Ladies' Aid of the
Evangelical UB Church, Zurich.
Surviving are two daughters,
Mrs. 'Clarence (Isabel) Horner,
North Bay; Mrs. Newell (Bea-
trice) Geiger, RR 1, Zurich; four
sons, Gordon A., Dundas; Wil-
liam John, Midland; Russell M.,
RR 1, Zurich; Donald E., To-
ronto; four sisters, Mrs. Nancy
Koehler, Zurich; Mrs. Clara
Koehler, Kitchener; Mrs. Ed-
mund Erb, RR 2, Zurich; Mrs.
Elda Smith, Watertown, N.Y;
tow brothers, Jacob Kennel,
Kitchener; Michael Kennel, of

Great Bend, N.Y. There are
also nine grandchildren and
nine great-grandchildren, An-
other son, Lorne, predeceased
his mother in 1946.
The body rested at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich,
where the service took place
on Monday, May 1, conducted
by Rev. M. Morrison and Rev,
M. Shatto. Interment was in
the Bayfield cemetery.
