just as exciting as the first with
the Beavers showing that they
can play good basketball when
they put their minds to it, as
they almost upset the league -
leading Confederations.
Mike Bedard, who has been
absent from the Beavers' line-
up for the past few weeks,
seemed to give the team the
lift they needed. Although he
scored only one point, he play-
ed an important part in the
Beavers' losing cause.
Aubrey Bedard again led the
winners as he hooped 14 points,
followed by Clare Lawrence
with 10, Ken Clarke with nine,
Dave Stark with four, Ron Des-
jardine with two and Pete Re-
gier with one.
Jerry Rader was high man in
the game as he looped 18 points
in a losing cause. Richard
Fischer was next with eight,
followed by Dave Siebert with
five, Shane McKinnon with four
and Mike Bedard with one.
The win for the Confedera-

PORTRAIT OF A BEARDED MAN — Lionel
Wilder, RR 1, Zurich, is one of the fellows in the
district who has grown a Centennial beard despite
the criticism of family and friends, and judging
from the faraway look in his eyes, Lionel is quite
pleased with himself. He should be, too, for his is
an attractive beard and Lionel portrays a dashing
gentleman in this photograph.
NEW MAJORETTE LEADER — Marilyn
Gascho, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Gascho,
Zurich, was named the new leader of the Zurich
Lions Majorettes. The former leader, Mrs. Stewart
Deitz, has retired. Marilyn has come up through
the ranks of the local marching twirlers and is
destinedto be a successful instructor for the girls
who add so much color and enjoyment to parades
in the district.
