Lance J. Reed, Superintendent
We are happy to welcome
Mrs. Margaret McFadden from
London, Mrs. Jennie Wilson
from Detroit and Mrs. Margaret
Braun of Forest, all as residents
to our Home.
We were sorry to see Julius
Thiel go to a G-oderich hospital.
The staff and residents sincere-
ly hope that after his treatment
he will return with us.
Unfortunately I was late in
getting my column in to print
last week. But I would like to
thank the Ladies' Auxiliary for
agreeing to sponsor .a birthday
party each month for residents
having a birthday in that month.
The interest shown by the Zur-
ich Majorettes is greatly appre-
ciated and the residents en-
joyed their displays very much.
The Ladies' Auxiliary have
tickets available for their var-
iety concert and bake gale to be
held April 14 in the Zurich
Public School auditorium. If
you wish tickets call the secre-
tary, Mrs. Gerald Gingerich, at
236-4351 and she will put them
away for you. There is one ad-
mission price, 50c, for either
an adult or a child.
We have had a great deal of
interest in our Easter dinner
next Sunday. The dining room.
will be open to the public from
12 noon •to 7 p.m. We can still
take reservations, and to place
yours telephone 236-4373.
Sincere thanks to one of our
nurses, Mrs. Ruble Turnbull,
for the special treat to our
residents for breakfast a couple
of Sundays ago. Mrs. Turnbull
had received from relatives in
Florida, a supply of oranges.
The residents enjoyed them
very much and they noticed a
big difference in the color and
taste in the oranges we buy
locally.

recently and presented an eve
ning of entertainment for the
residents. It was an evening
spent playing games and for the
residents who were able to par-
ticipate, they enjoyed them-
selves thoroughly. After an
evening of .games the visiting
ladies provided a very tasty
lunch. This the first time an
outside group has come to play
games with the residents and
it was indeed a very nice treat
for them.
Also to visit the Home and
present an Easter program were
the Mennonite Youth Fellow-
ship, who are sponsored by Mr.
and Mrs. Neil Gingerich. Their
presentation in song and spoken
word reminded all. present that
Easter was fast approaching
and exactly what this important
season of the year is to our
daily lives. There was approxi-
mately 30 in the group and the
residents enjoyed this program
and were especially thrilled to
see that young people are think-
ing of thein.
We are grateful to Miss Meda
Surerus for all the Easter paint-
ings she has done on the glass
in some of our windows and
doors. This certainly helps to
remind us that spring is just
around the corner, The Easter
lily display she and some of her
friends made for our lobby is
also appreciated.
-To help remind us of Easter
we are grateful to McKinley's
Hatchery of Zurich area, for
their live chick display in our
lobby.
This will be a very memora-
ble Easter for Mrs. Reed and
myself. Firstly, because it is
the first Easter for the Home,
Secondly, we shall be very busy
as we will be moving to Zurich
next week during the Easter
holidays. We are both looking
forward to taking up residency
in the Zurich area.
Rev. M. Shatto, of Zurich
EUB Church, was here this
week and offered Easter com-
munion to residents and staff.
In closing I would like to
remind you again of the Easter
dinner and I would recommend
that you make yourreservations
now so that you would not be
disappointed,
