AREA COURS DE BOIS — If anyone had visited Hen-
sall last weekend without knowing the village was celebrat-
ing a Winter Carnival, one might have thought the place
was populated by folk right out of early Canadian history.
Three local legislators strapped on the traditional snowshoes
found so useful by the first settlers and pleased the crowd
in a thrilling race won by Mrs. Minnie Noakes, reeve of Hen-
sall. On her left is Mayor Jack Delbridge of Exeter who was
second and on her right is Hay Township Reeve Jack Cor-
bett, who was third.
and lunch. Mrs. Ken Keller
gave the topic on the first chap-

Merner rendered a piano solo
and Sharon Martene and Mar-
garet Merner sang a duet.

Group three will cater to a con-
firmation supper at the Com-
munity Centre. The visiting

On Friday last, the World
Day of Prayer, Rev. A. Black-
well came and `round the break-
fast table' led us in a very in-
teresting short service. On
Sunday last, the minister who
was to take the regular Sunday
chapel service, because of road
conditions, was unable to come
from Crediton. The residents
took care of their own service.
Mrs. Annie Stelck played the
piano and led in the singing of
favorite hymns. Mrs. Bertha
Uttley read the twenty-third
Psalm and Chester Snaith led in
prayers and presented the medi-
tation. A poem was also read
by Mrs. Ellen Horn from Mr.
!HIE
Smith's family Bible. I am in-
deed grateful to staff members,
Mrs. Ellen Horn and Mrs. Mary
Ryan, for encouraging the resi-
dents to take part on such short
notice.

The Auxiliary is now fully
formed and the next public
meeting will be Wednesday,
March 1. If you are interested
in the Blue Water Rest Horne,
why notconsider joining. There
are many 'committees, each with
an able chairman, that need
your help. Plan now to attend
the next meeting and find out
exactly what is expected of an
Auxiliary and its members.

Reed and myself manage to
play several games with them
each week. The next time your

why not have it here and per-
