All Canadian seed •compan- ies will carry the flower — the Cosmos early sensational mix- ture — in their lines and it will be featured next year in a special centennial packet. Best of all, the plant is so easily grown that young chil- dren will not be disappointed when they plant the seeds. The blooms are red, white and pink. Blue flowers could be used for those who wish to make red, white and blue pat- terns. The cosmos grows to about three feet and the huge flowers are held upright on long stems which make it excellent for cutting. It flowers in about 10 weeks when planted outdoors, but this time can be shortened by start- ing it indoors •and then trans- planting it to the garden after the danger of frost ' The flower does equally well if sown in poor soil or rich soil. It will withstand drought and does best if sown in a sunny location. The centennial committee would appreciate if you. kept the cosmos in mind when you plan next year's flower garden. 0 HENSALL On Sunday next, January 22, at St. Paul's Anglican Church the apostalic rite of confirma- tion will be administered by Bishop Appleyard, of Georgian Bay.
