Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mac- Kinnon and family, Alvinston, Mr. and Mrs. Bill MacKinnon, London, were holiday visitors with Mrs. Janet MacKinnon. ---0 Cromarty Couple Married 50 Years Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Drover, of Cromarty, •celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with "open house". Mrs. Wil- liam Brintnell, sister of the latter, poured tea and a grand- daughter, Mrs. John Jacobi, served. A family dinner was held on January 2. They received lovely gifts from their family, relatives, friends and neighbors, a letter of congratulations from Rt. Hon. Lester B. Pearson and cards from many friends. The couple were married on January 10, 1917, at the bride's home, by the late Rev. J. F. Knight, of Hensall. They were unattended. Mrs. Drover was the former Ethel Bell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bell, of Usborne Township, and was a dressmaker for several years. Mr. Drover has lived all his life on the homestead, which is now a Century Farm. The couple have two chil- dren, Earl, of London, and Mrs. Beatrice Munn, Cromarty, and three grandchildren. Hensall Couple Married 50 Years Mr. and Mrs. Cole, of Hensall, will hold "open house" on Sat- urday, January 7, to mark the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Cole is the former Annie Eyre, of Tucker - smith. They farmed in Hibbert until retiring to Hensall in 1948. They have a son, Alvin, of Hibbert, and two grandchil- dren. Elect Officers St, Paul's WA held its Christ- mas meeting December 21, at the home of Mrs. Barrie Jack- son. Delicious desserts were served, each member bringing her favorite. The president, Mrs. Annie Reid, opened the meeting with prayers and the rector, Rev. J. P. Gandon, presented a further chapter of the study book, "The Church Grows in Canada", and a discusson perod followed. The rector presided over the election of officers for 1967, who are as follows: president, Mrs, Thomas Lavender; secre- tary -treasurer, Mrs. Barrie Jack- son, and prayer partner's sec- retary, Mrs. Mary Taylor. Plans were made for the day of the confirmation and vestry meeting on January 22, and all those attending the confirma- tion were invited to remain for the pot -luck supper with the bishop. Sunday School Party The Christmas Sunday school party of the St. Paul's Anglican Church was held in the Sunday school rooms Thursday after - GROWTH noon, December 28. Miss Jean Henderson was in charge of the recreational period and Rev. J, P. Gandon presented each child with a gift. The ladies of the church provided the lunch and each child received candy and fruit. 0 Mrs. Ken Wildfong, of Ex- eter, was the winner of $250 in a Christmas draw sponsored by Exeter businessmen. Six years ago she was a winner of $500 in a similar draw. She is the former Mary Webster, of Hensall. Albert Brenzil, of Wingham, was the winner of $5 in a draw at Reid's Texaco Service Sta- tion Friday night, sponsored by Hensall Kinsmen. Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Troyer observed their 25th wedding anniversary on Monday, Decem- ber 26 and celebrated with Mrs. Troyer's brother and sister-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Morrell, of Toronto, who were the at- tendants at their wedding of 25 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Moir, Debbie and Nicole, of Bramp- ton; Mrs. Bertha Mason, of Lon- don, spent the holidays with Mrs. Elsie Case and Miss Wendy Moir.
