ages were packed and deliver-
ed on Thursday, December 8,
by the friendship and visitation
-committee of Hensall United
Church, for the shut-ins of the
congregation, Committee in
charge of the project were Mrs.

MRS. W. O. GOODWIN
Mrs. W. O. Goodwin, highly -
esteemed resident of Hensall
for the past 45 years, passed
away in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, Friday evening, Decem-
ber 9, following a three -weeks'
illness.,She was the former
Ethel Mulkinson, a native of
Englapd, and beloved wife of
Wilfred O. Goodwin.
A very active member of St.
Paul's Anglican Church, she was
a former president of the WA
up until. 1963. She held the
office of secretary -treasurer, a
member of the choir, and con-
ducted the Sunday school for
several years. She was inter-
ested in all phases of the
church, and also a former mem-
ber •of Hensall WI.
Surviving are her husband
and one daughter, Mary, at
home.
Public funeral service, large-
ly attended, was held from
the Bonthron funeral home on
Monday, with Rev. J. P. Gandon
delivering the memorial , mes-
sage and paying tribute to the
life of the deceased, Burial
was in Hensall Union Cemetery.
Bearers were R. H. Middle-
ton, Walter Spencer, Laird Mic-
kle, Gordon Schwalm, John
Skea and Clarence Parke.

Hein Rooseboom will leave
December 21 from International
Airport by jet for Holland, his
native land, where he will spend
Christmas with relatives whom
he has not seen for 16 years.
He will be away three weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Haslip and
family, of Burlington, were
week -end visitors with Mrs. Eric
Kennedy and Ira Geiger.
Amber Rebekahs
The Lodge Hall, lovely in
Christmas motif, was the set-
ting for. the Christmas party of
Amber Rebekah Lodge Wednes-
day evening with a Iarge at-
tendance. The report of the

Santa in Hensall
The annual Christmas party
for children of the village of
Hensall and district was ,held
Saturday. Santa arrived on the
fire truck and was given a rous-
ing reception by the children
and adults.
Three hundred and fifty bags
of potato chips, chocolate bars
and chocolate milk, the latter
donated by Hurondale Dairy,
were Banded out by clerk Earl
Campbell and chief of police
E. R. Davis, assisted by the
senior citizens.
Free films were shown in the
Town Hall in charge of Kins-
men Bill Fuss. The project was
sponsored by Hensall Business-
men, Kinsmen, Kinettes, Legion
and Ladies' Auxiliary.

to have a super-duper dessert
euchre and bake sale in March,
It was also decided to contact
Miss Joanne Egillson, student
to the United Nations in June,
1966, sponsored by the lodges
of this district, to show pictures
of her trip in January, 1967,
which will be open to the pub-
lic. A donation was made to
the War Memorial Sick Chil-
dren's Hospital London. Mem-
bers exchanged gifts during a
social hour, and a Christmas
lunch served. Christmas treats
were delivered to shut-in mem-
bers of this lodge by members.
Legion Meeting
Hensall Branch of the Cana-
dian Legion 468 met Wednes-
day evening, December 7, when
nominations were held, con-
ducted by past president John
Simmons. A joint installation
of officers of the Legion and
Auxiliary will be held Friday,
January 6, 1957. Five dollars
was donated to the CNIB, $10
to the Legion Christmas Fund
for hospitalized veterans in Lon-
don, $25 to the Santa Claus
party held in Hensall Saturday.
Wilmer Dalrymple kindly don-
ated a Canadian flag to the
branch.
V. M. Pyette, CNIB campaign
chairman for Hensall and dis-
triet, has announced that
$392.15 has been received to
date. On behalf of the CNII3,
Mr, Pyette would like to thank
the canvassers for their assis-
tance and to express apprecia-
tion to the donors for their
generosity.
Michael Davis was the winner
of a lovely Christmas box of
goodies at the Regal Grill last
Saturday.
Mrs. Louise Simpson left Fri-
day for Birmingham, Mich., to
spend the winter months with
her daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs, Gus Voth, and
other members of her family,
Kippen East Women's Insti-
tute entertained residents of
Huronview last Wednesday af-
ternoon with a delightful pro -
g r a m, Twenty-two residents
with birthdays this month were
presented with . gifts. Lunch,
including a birthday eake, was
served, and the residents report
a most enjoyable •afternoon of
entertainment.

Correction
In the report of the annual
meeting of the' Hensall associa-
tion of Girl Guides and Brown-
ies last week, it was reported
that Mrs. E. Rowe was appoint -
et district commissioner for
1967. This was in error — it
should read Mrs. Rowe was ap-
pointed chairman of the local
association.

Obituary
FRANK RYCKMAN
Frank Ryekman, RR 1, Hensall,
passed away Sunday afternoon,
December 11, at Huronview, in
his 96th year. He fanned ex-
tensively at Chiselhurst where
he lived all of his life,
Surviving is one brother,
Grant Ryckman, of RR 1, Hen-
sall. His wife predeceased him
in 1955.
Public funeral service was.
held from Bonthron funeral
home, Tuesday, December 13,
at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev.
Harold Currie. Burial was in
MoTaggart's Cemetery.
