Every minute of every day and every night since
1890, Bell subscribers have been able to reach an
Operator. (In the early days, some of our very
small exchanges did close. Today, there's some-
one on duty everywhere all the time.) Our people
have saved lives, helped to put out fires and
avert disasters ... and, mostly, they've just been
there-- reassuringly present to serve.
And they are there today. Operators, repairmen,
engineers ... all the people who may be needed,
whenever you need them.
People -- one of the reasons why Bell Communi-
cations serve you so well.

Married 50 Years Ago
On T u e s d a y, December 6,
1966, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
Jones, of Hensall, celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary
with "open house" in the af-
ternoon and evening from 2 to
4, and 7 to 9 p.m. The event
took place at their home on
Queen 'Street, for their rela-
tives, friends and neighbors.
The family honored their par-
ents with a dinner at their
home Sunday and presented
them with lovely gifts.
Their marriage of 50 years
ago was solemnized by Rev. E.
Becker at the .home of the
bride's parents, the late Mr.
and Mrs. Jacob Finkbeiner, in
Stephen Township. Mrs. Jones
was the former Lillian Fink-
beiner.
Attendants at the wedding,
Almeda Finkbeiner, sister of
the bride, now Mrs. William
Parsons, of Cromarty, and Ar-
thur Jones, Exeter, brother of
the groom, were present for the
celebration. The celebrants re-
call their wedding days as a
lovely day with no snow and
the sun shining.
Following their marriage they
moved to the south boundary
in Stanley Township, where Mr.
Jones farmed for 44 years, re-
tiring to Hensall in 1960. They
have one son, Harold, RR 2,
Hensall; one daughter, Mar-
garet, Mrs. Bernard Keys, RR
1, Varna; • four grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
The money doll, valued at
$25, on display at the Regal
Grill, to be drawn for Christ-
mas eve, is artistically decor-
ated with 20 one dollar bills.
The artist was Mrs. Grant Mc-
C1•inchey. This is a project of
Hensall Legion Ladies' Aux-
iliary.
