John Soldan, the Hay repre-

brief report for that organiza-
tion. "When are we going
ahead, with the Parkhill dam is
what everyone is asking," Mr.
Soldan said. He added that the

consider another dam at the
bridge north of Lucan, but this
idea has not been taken up .as
yet.
Wilfred Mousseau, secretary
of the Hay Federation of Agri-

might be placed on the water
system. He also told the meet -
ng that council had investigated
the possibility of a meter sys-
tem for water, but that it was
not economical at the present
time. There are 297 water 'cus-
tomers in the village.
Mr. Hess reported that at the
present time there are 15 homes
in Zurich being heated electri-

of the hydro line which has
been run through the village to
supply Blue Water Rest Home
with power, pointing out that
Ontario Hydro owns the line at
the present time, but that the
village could purchase it at de-
preciated value, in the event of
annexation at some future date.
The utilities chairinan praised
the work of superintendent Earl
Flaxbard, describing him as a
devoted and conseientious man.
As chairman of the' fire de-
partment committee, Mr. Hess
said he is concerned with the
high cost of operating this sys-
tem. He pointed out that the
total cost of operations for one
year is $7,335.95, which repre-
sents about 14 mills on the tax
rate. "We have asked Hay
Township for more help to
maintain this system, but so far
we have not been too succes-
full," he added. "We feel they
should be able to pay at least
one mill for the protection they
receive."
Clerk Mrs. Elda Wagner chair-
ed the meeting.
