Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. Door

Clinton hospital penny sale
draw last Saturday were Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. James Bozzato
and Dana, RCAF Foymont, have
returned after spending a month
visiting the latter's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. William Kyle, of
Kipper.
Mrs. Wilmer Dalrymple is a
patient in Victoria Hospital,
London, where she underwent
surgery on Sunday.

derwent surgery in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Friday, is
doing •as well as can be ex-
pected,

Meet at Hensall
Huron - Maitland Presbyterial
,of the Women's Missionary So-
ciety of the Presbyterian Church
held its fall rally in Carmel
Presbyterian Church Hensall,
Wednesday afternoon and eve-
ning with the them, "The Chris-
tian's Calling to Serve — Go
Thou, and Do Likewise".
Mrs. Wes Bradnoek, of Au-
burn, president of the Presby-
terial, presided. Seaforth sen-
ior WMS conducted the devo-
tional for the afternoon session,
and Mrs. J. C. Boyne for the
evening.
Reports from the different
departments were heard, in-
cluding one from the literature
secretary, Mrs. Marjorie En-
right, of Goderich, who stated
"we should be proud to be Ca-
nadians and have these displays
of books, anybody has time to
read good books, the world is
open to those who take time
to read".
Guest speaker Miss Dorothy
Keller, deaconess and regional
secretary for the WMS, who
was born in Vancouver and
worked in Winnipeg, Man., and
Montreal for the WMS, gave
helpful suggestions on °how to
improve their programs and
she showed a film strip that can
be used along with their year's
mission study. She talk specif-
ically of her experience with
the Indians in Manitoba. The
speaker was introduced by Mrs.
J. Dunbar, Belgrave.
An impressived 'in memor-
lam' service was conducted by
Clinton WMS, honoring the
women who had passed on.
A girls' quartet from Sea -
forth, Sandra Coleman, Mary
Jean Fry, Lauren Moggach and
Cathy Scott, sang "Our God Is
Great", accompanied by Mrs.
William Brown at the piano,

Kippen Cookettes
The fourth meeting of Kippen
One Cookettes was held Mon-
day, September 26, at the home
of Mrs. Bruce McGregor, The
meeting opened with the 4-H
pledge. The leaders discussed
"planning good meals", the use
of left -overs", how to use meat
and meat alternates for sup-
per". Group work included
"rice and cheese dish", "cheese
fondue".

Obituary
MRS, RHETA CHARLES
Mrs. Rheta Charles, a highly
esteemed resident of the vil-
lage, passed away very sudden-
ly at her home Saturday, Octo-
ber 1. The former Rheta Fran-
cis Thompson, she came to Hen-
sall from London some years
ago. She was in her 72nd year.
Mrs. Charles was a member
of Hensall United Church, a
member of unit four, UCW, and
a member of Hensall Women's
Institute.
Surviving are two daughters
Mrs. Scott (Muriel) Robinson,
London; Mrs. Robert (Eleanor)
Harradine, Sodus, N.Y.; one
brother, Lyle Thompson, Red
Deer, Alta.; and two grand-
children.
Public funeral service was
held from Bonthron funeral
home, Monday, conducted by
Rev. H. F. Currie. Burial was
in Hensall Union Cemetery,

white tapers decorated Trinity
United Church, Ingersoll, when
Patricia Huntley exchanged
vows with David Lloyd George
Noakes. Rev. Stanford Lueyk
officiated at the double ring
ceremony.
Mr, and Mrs, Morley Hun:ley,
Ingersoll, are the parents of the
bride, and the groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Noakes
of Hensall.
Mr, Harold Riddolls •presided
at the organ and accompanied
the soloist, Mrs. R. Bradfield,
who sang the 23rd Psalm, the
Hebrew Benediction, and dur-
ing the signing of the register,
the Wedding Prayer.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, chose a floor -
length gown of white French
peau de soie. The bodice was
enhanced by a scooped neckline
and empire waistline. The main
centre of attraction was the de-
tachable chapel length coat in
cathedral style with elbow -
length sleeves. Delicate ribbon
lace trimmed the front of the
coat and her finger-tip veil was
of French pure silk illusion and
caught up by a double wedding -
band headpieces. She carried a
cascade bouquet of white roses
and ivy,
Miss Yvonne Wilson, of In-
gersoll, was maid of honor and
the bridesmaids were Mrs. K.
Wettlaufer and Miss Barbara
Carr, of London. They were
identically gowned in floor-
length two-pece ensembles in
moss green silk brocade. The
skirts were sheaths of lime
green crepe topped with sleeve-
less bodices of brocade.Over
this, to match the bride's, they
wore cathedral coats •of brocade
also. To add a final touch they
wore wedding -band headpieces,
accented by cocktail veils. They
carried a single large porn mum
with yellow ribbons.
The groomsman was Mr. Ed-
ward Hart, London, and the
ushers were Mr. Grant Huntley,
Ingersoll, brother of the bride,
and Mr. William Noakes, Hen-
sall, brother of the groom.

Her corsage was white mums.
The groom's mother assisted,
wearing a champagne beige
