A new law, effective Sep:ember 1, requires motorists approaching from the front to stop as well. This law applies to all motor- is.ts except those approaching from the front on a highway with separate roadways. 'The purpose of this new law, stopping traffic in both direc- tions. is to allow children to cress the highway after they get off the bus," said Honorable Irwin Haskett, Ontario's Minis- ter of Transport, "1 urge all parents and teachers to instruct children to act with caution when getting on or off a school bus. After knocking out the pow- erful Dashwood Tigers last week by a 9-1 score in the final game, the Zurich Lumberkings are now playing off with Moore Centre, and won the first game of the series with Bob Kovacik pitching a fine two -hit per- formance. Applications are being called for the position of manager of the Hensall arena for the coat- ing season. Owing to SS 14 Hay Town- ship being closed due to the lack of enough pupils, Mr, John Alexander has accepted a con- tract to transport the children to school at Hensall. NIr. F. G. Bonthron, of Hen- saIl, was in Hamilton last week attending the annual conven- tion of ,post plasters.
