On their return a brother to the former Mr. Denis Ducharme ac- companied them back to his h. _ne in Windsor after work- ing at Oakwood Inn for almost two months. '.:r. and Mrs. Harvey Gignac and family from Amherstburg on their holiday tour called on the Ducharmes in Dashwood on Sunday last. Many from this parish at- tended the Denomme and John- son reception in Dashwood, where almost two hundred took part in the delicious dinner served. The evening reception was also well attended. The young couple were the recipi- ent_ of many gifts and also the good wishes of many friends for a happy and prosperous life. Mrs. L. Durand Another highly respected citi- zen of this parish passed away suddenly in the person of Mrs. Louis Durand, when she had just turned her 73rd year. All was very impressive and all en- joyed the ceremonies and the day out, Visiting At Home On Thursday last visitors at the home of yours truly and Mrs. Ducharme were from De- troit, Mrs. Lawrence Ducharme, eldest; from Groose Pointe, Mich., Mrs. Tyrus Stansberry; from Windsor, Mrs. Joseph Masse; from Stoney Point, Sis- ter M. St. Denis; from Chatham, Sister Pricille Theresa, and. from Zurich, Mrs. Theresa Hart- man. All are daughters of the Ducharmes. In all they had a four-day outing with their par- ents and they did much work in and around the home. Dur- ing that time the Ducharmes had to retire for they were un- der strict orders, therefore they had to move in an out -of -their - way apartment in the home and there they had to remain and were barred from moving around until much of the work was completed. The Ducharmes, an elderly couple, were not used to living under restrictions and of course that caused a little friction be- tween all. The whole affair was a rarity to the daughters to meet together at the paternal home excepting on the occasion of the Ducharme's golden and diamond anniversary of their married life. During that peri- od of time you can well picture the 'conversation that went on, dating back from their school days and since then to the pres- ent time, renewing many past incidents of the many years past to the present time. At no time was there quietness in the home, each had a little story to tell or a joke to pass on which was very interesting and at times caused laughter. We confess in all they were, for the parents, days that they en- joyed and days they wish will again come soon. 0 Renew Your Subscription Now CBC Program Presents Profile This fall the CBC's "Tele- scope" will present a profile of Sebastian Cabot, well-known film and television actor.
