There were 30 members Ines. ent. Group four were in charge o£ devotions. Mrs. Mervyn Hayter gave the ,call to worship and Mrs, Lee McConnell read the Scripture lesson. Medita- tion was given by Mrs. Ronald Taylor. Mrs. William Dowson gave a mono log u e, "Managing the .church supper". Mrs. George Reid took up the offering, with Mrs. W. Dowson dedicating it, The Bible study was led by Mrs, Frank Hill and Mrs. Gor- don Hill offered the prayer. The president, Mrs. Mervyn Hayter, took charge of the busi- ness period. Sixty-four hospital and shut- in calls were made during the past month. At the close of the meeting a sale of plants was held with Mrs. Fred Reid, of Clinton, as auctioneer. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Burke and daughter, of Brampton, spent a few days with Mr. Milt Haugh. Mr. and Mrs, Albert Rader were sponsors for Michelle Elizabeth, the infant daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Ted Webb, in Peace Lutheran Church, Exeter, Mr. and Mrs, Sheldon Wolfe and family and Rev. J. M. Oestreicher, of Clifford, spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oestreicher and family, and Mrs. Louis Wolfe returned est home with them. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Carl Oestreicher and fam- ily were Mr. and Mrs. Don Mc- Kenzie and Scott, of Kitchener.. Mr, and Mrs. Roy Kew, of St. Thomas, spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Hilton Ford, Mrs. George Link showed pic- tures of her trip to the western provinces last summer in the Evangelical UB Church Sunday evening. Donald Pletsch, of Guelph, was a house guest with Rev. and Mrs. Merrill James and boys Monday night. A special local conference meeting was held in the EUB Church Monday evening for the purpose of a "poll of opinion" on whether or not they wished. to unite with the United Church. of Canada. Dr. E. Fol- lowing the service a potluck dinner was served by the Ladies' Aid, with Mrs. Ernest Koehler convenor. Gifts were presented to Rev, and Mrs. Gatz, Billie and Timmy, by the Sunday school, junior and senior choir, Walther League, Ladies' Aid and the congregation. They will be moving to Ashland, Wisconsin, May 24,. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Boyle were taken by surprise on the occasion of their 15th wedding anniversary when members of their family gathered to cele- brate. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Syd Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith and family, all of Wyoming, and Mr, and Mrs. Howard James, of Forest.
