(Continued from Last Week)
The little log school of years
ago was nothing today to be
ashamed of, for it has left in
its pathway much good in the
line of learning. Starting with
a cardboard card hung on a
post, with the letters large
enough to give the children
the right meaning and once
they had that it remained with
them for all time. At that
time it was not as today when
a pupil does not like a subject
and may drop it, then, they
were versed in all subjects
when they quit school.
At that time the red school
house turned out good scholars.
Men and women of that day
are now taking their places in
the highest society of our land.
Much of the learning ,of that
time was not pressed in to you
for your school days only.
The brain of the elephant is
the biggest of all land animals.
It weighs more than 13 pounds.
It's bad enough to be a quit-
ter. But it's worse to finish
something you never should
have started. RR 3 -- ZURICH
