Jack Yungblut, of London, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Yungblut, over the week -end. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Risk, of Detroit, holidayed with Mr. and .Mrs. Earl Yungblut and other relatives this past week -end. Mrs. Laura Haberer returned home from St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday. Miss Frieda Haberer is a pa- tient in South Huron Hospital. Mr, and Mrs, Don Hartman and family, of London, spent the week -end with Mrs. Ben McCann. Mrs, Gordon Hess is spending a few days at the ihome of her sister, Mrs. Bill Freele, and Mr. Freele, in Windsor. Mr. and lift's. Don Bedard and family, of Detroit, spent the week -end with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. John Daly and daughter visited with Mrs. Daly's mother, Mrs. Emma Be- dard. Miss Mary Bedard, Detroit, spent the week -end with her mother, Mrs. Emma Bedard. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Geoffrey were week -end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geoffrey. Mrs. Emma Bedard returned from South Huron Hospital on Thursday last. Charles McQuillin showed colored slides and a talk of his trip to Yukon and Alaska at the April meeting of the Zurich Women's Institute. Mrs. Tom Meyers presented a slate of officers at the annual meeting for 1966-1967: presi- dent, Mrs. Howard Finkbeiner; vice-president, Mrs. Herb Bier - ling; secretary, Mrs. Leonard Prang; treasurer, Mrs. Newell Geiger; district director, Mrs. Delbert Geiger; alternate, Mrs. Leonard Erb. Convenors of standing com- mittees gave their rep or t s. Achievement Day for 4-H clubs will be held May 14 in Exeter. Winner of the chair at the WI supper was Wes Merner; the afghan was won by Miss Shirley Flaxbard, and the cookie jar by Fred Haberer. 0 VARNA NEWS The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be administered in the United Church next Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barker, Ruth, Lorne and Glenn, of King City, visited over the week -end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont. The young people of the United Church are putting on a variety concert next Monday evening, May 16, in the Town- ship Hall. The annual Red Cross meet- ing was held last week and a canvass of the community will be held in the near future.
